It’s time for the California State Fair! This year it will be held July 14th – August 1st at the Cal Expo fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA. Can you believe I was born and raised here but have never been to the state fair?! Pre-sale tickets are available now for purchase and offer a good discount. Plus, the fair website is boasting that food will be 25% less expensive this year. Fair food is always a treat but they usually charge ‘an arm and a leg’. They have great indoor and outdoor exhibits planned and I can’t wait to see what kind of booths will be set up. Fireworks are scheduled every night after 10pm.

I am from the Sacramento area too (born & raised). I usually try to make it to the fair at least once a year. I look forward to seeing all the different types of foods they have like fried twinkies, funnel cakes, etc.
So is the State Fair fun? I’ve only been to county ones and they are kind of rinky. And I LOVE funnel cakes too – with half strawberries, half apples, and a whole lot of powdered sugar!
