Earlier this month I came across an interesting infographic from Verizon Wireless entitled “15 Things You’ll Never Buy Again” and was shocked at how much I could relate to it. With the rise of technology and our dependence on mobile devices, there are just some items that we no longer need or, if we already have it, we won’t have to buy again. I always use my smartphone instead of a traditional flashlight, alarm, planner, calculator, and address book!
15 Things You’ll Never Buy Again
The convenience aspect is obvious. In the infographic, it’s pointed out that 86.3% feel that their mobile device makes life easier to manage. You have a whole slew of tools pre-installed and they’re right at your fingertips, ready to use at a moment’s notice. These also cut down on clutter and items needed to pack on a trip. During our current vacation here in the Netherlands, we loaded our tablets up with movies, books, and movies to save on luggage and all of our important documents could be pulled up in an e-mail or we took a screenshot for easy offline access. Easy peasy!
There are some exceptions though. Periodic moments of going unplugged can refresh you and give you some key bonding moments with your family. Family game night is just not the same if you don’t use classic board, card, or domino games. Ticket to Ride and Mexican train are among our favorites. We also keep a home game console and a portable one. The amount of content and gameplay just cannot be matched on a mobile device.
Will you be buying any of these 15 things in near the future?
