Welcome to Cookies & Clogs – coming to you from the San Francisco Bay Area in sunny California!

My name is TerriAnn and I am the primary writer here. I share my ‘not so humble’ opinion of what to buy, places to go, and things to do. My posts reflect life with my husband of 12 years, my 11-year-old daughter whom I homeschool, and my adorable 57-lb lap dog.

Here are a few posts to get you started as you look around:

Thanks for coming by and getting to know us a bit. We hope to get you know you too so leave a comment if you feel so inclined or connect with us via the media channels above. Enjoy your stay and feel free to enter a giveaway or two while you’re here!

You’re welcome. With the bigger class sizes, bullying, and shrinking educational funds many are thinking about homeschooling. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask and hopefully I can at least point you in the right direction 🙂

I love that you share your ‘not so humble’ opinion, TerriAnn, that’s what makes your site so great to read! 🙂

Hi TerriAnn! I enjoyed reading your insight on homeschooling. Thanks for visiting The Domestic Life Stylist. Following you on twitter also.

Fantastic – thanks! I hope it helped as those were things that concerned me when I began teaching my daughter at home!

Janelle @ Brimful Curiosities April 14, 2012 - 1:04 pm

Venturing by to stop and say hi via the UBP! That’s awesome that you homeschool. My kids attend public school but we try to incorporate our own homeschooling along the way to supplement their education and broaden their minds.

Cookies & Clogs May 6, 2012 - 10:39 pm

I don’t think it’s necessary home vs public school. It all depends on the parent’s involvement in their children’s education and that’s fantastic that you are being so active. I’m sure your kids are thriving 🙂

JDaniel4's Mom April 14, 2012 - 1:30 pm

Stopping by from the UBP! I so admire that you homeschool!

Adding you to my blog bookmarks to read more!
Have a great day.

Nice to meet you! It’s funny when you realize that so many STILL have wrongly preconceived ideas about homeschooling. Still, it is tough to keep going sometimes so I’m glad to make the acquaintance of another homeschooling mom so we can support each other 🙂

Cher@Mom and More April 15, 2012 - 7:29 pm

Wow 57 pounds! That hand truck looks interesting, checking it out next!

Nice to meet you!

Thanks for visiting me at Mom and More for the Ultimate Blog Party 2012!

Cookies & Clogs May 10, 2012 - 7:36 pm

Yep, and she’s lost weight – she used to be 65 lbs! We love the hand truck and use it several times a week. Others are always impressed with it’s portability, versatility, and stability.

Gena @ Red Tag Mama April 15, 2012 - 9:25 pm

She’s a lab mix with shepherd and cattle dog. She’s extremely long but with short legs 🙂 I’ll have to look for pics on your blog of your lab!

Diana @ Toronto Teacher Mom April 16, 2012 - 6:26 am

Hi TerriAnn! So nice to meet you. The photos you took while out skipping rocks are beautiful. Looking forward to learning more about your family. And seriously, your dog is 57 pounds?

Thanks – that was an amazing spot we just stumbled upon while at Lake Tahoe. The water was so amazingly clear! Yes, our little doggie is not so little but she still likes to be cuddled and held like a baby on your lap 😛

Kim April 17, 2012 - 1:14 pm

Hi TerriAnn, I connected with you at the UBP12 parties last night and was excited to come by today and check out your blog! I’m hooked up with you now on twitter, fb, google+ and pinterest! Love it! BTW, my lapdog is 150 lbs. 🙂

Andrea Waters April 19, 2012 - 3:14 pm

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You’ve got a cute one. Can’t imagine your lapdog. I have 3 but they don’t weigh over 8 lbs. lol

Cookies & Clogs May 10, 2012 - 9:02 pm

Thank you. I know, she thinks she’s a little pup though she takes up all three of our laps when we sit to watch a movie on the sofa. We were with a friend who had a silkie. Speckles’ paw was the same size as the dog’s whole head so when she tried to wrestle with her the dog shrieked for deal life. Speckles was clueless though and couldn’t understand why it didn’t want to play. What kind of dogs do you have?

Andrea Waters May 11, 2012 - 5:04 am

I have 2 chihuhua’s and 1 chiwiennie. The chiwiennie is my lap dog. Every time I sit somewhere, she’s right there ready to plop into my lap. Even when I’m on my laptop, she has to be in my lap. I’ve learned to type around here. But I wouldn’t change it for a minute. We love our dogs. They are family!

Cookies & Clogs May 11, 2012 - 9:08 am

I know what you mean! Before this we liked dogs in general but, now that we have Speckles, we are really ‘dog people’. Too bad she’s WAY too big for me to type with her on my lap though 😛

tinycandi April 19, 2012 - 3:20 pm

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog for the UBP2012! It’s nice to “meet” you!
I love that you have a 57lb lap dog. 🙂 If I had a big dog…no doubt it would be a lap dog as well. 🙂
Enjoy the party!

Cookies & Clogs May 10, 2012 - 9:03 pm

Do you have a small dog then? We didn’t know she’d be so big but that’s what you get when you adopt a rescue dog and the they don’t really know what each of the parents were.

Corey Brock April 19, 2012 - 5:10 pm

We used to live in the Bay Area, but moved away almost 9 years ago. I miss it sometimes.
Nice to meet you at the UBP!

Cookies & Clogs May 10, 2012 - 9:06 pm

It really is a nice area here but sometimes I wish it was not as ‘squished’. Are you happy where you are now? Have any tips or hidden gems of the SF Bay you’d like to share?
