Even with gas prices going down (well, not so much in California still) most people are still concerned with good fuel economy. One way to extend those miles per gallon is to get a hybrid. The 2015 Toyota Avalon is a gorgeous full-size sedan that makes going green look good.
2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Review – Ride and Features
The ride is smooth and is easy to handle. For day-to-day use, the comfort and luxury is tough to beat. I noticed the performance changed a bit on higher speeds when on the highway. The ride did not feel quite as solid, but was still decent. Changing between gas and electricity is hardly noticeable.
Inside, Toyota did not skimp at all. The soft touch surfaces and supple leather seating just feels so good. As for the controls, again, Toyota nailed it. The dash has a clear, vivid display that’s easy to read. Techies will be happy to know that a Qi charger pad is built in and, below that, you’ll find a USB charging port with a nice cubby for your phone.
The only potential problem might be the surface of the control area. It gets fingerprints on it REALLY easily (no, we didn’t have particularly oily fingers) and the angle is susceptible to glare.
2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Review – Interior Space
The Avalon is roomy all around. There’s plenty of head room and leg room in the front and back. Doors open very wide for easy access. Only the trunk area seems to be a bit on the small side. Well, that and the glove compartment. The power rear sunscreen is always welcome during warm weather and I like that it automatically retracts when the car is placed in reverse.
The 2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is a pretty sweet car. While it’s not without flaws entirely, I’d be happy to recommend it to the right buyers.
