Call it a late realization but it just dawned on me that we’re boring. I don’t mean ‘we’ collectively but my husband and I. The other day, we ran into some friends that we hadn’t seen in a while. We talked about getting together and they asked what we liked to do for fun. A blank expression came across both our faces with wide-eyes and an audible, “Uhm….” uttered in stereo. It was a moment of truth.
How we know we’re boring and total homebodies:
- Can’t think of anything when asked what you do for fun.
- “Going out” means eating out, even if it’s fast food.
- “Family time” usually involves a movie, smartphone, or tablet.
- Enjoy being with friends but would rather kick back at home.
- Most looked forward to activity each day – sleep.
Is this just proof that we are old? Or that we are ‘settled’ parents? Or is it just a personal and isolated reflection? Has this ever happened to you? While I wait for your answer, I’m going to take a nap…

OMG we are you guys! Last night my husband wanted to order pizza out, but our schedule didn’t allow for it so I said why not order it another night when we can have some “us” time. He comes back with “by us time you mean eating pizza while watching the DVR, right?” yeah, that’s right.
Geez, if you are old at your age…what must I be at mine!!! Don’t worry, once the kids get old enough to talk back, you’re life excitement level will sky rocket! LOL
This is funny! Don’t worry…this is just a phase 🙂
Sounds familiar! I blame it on the kids being little and hopefully that’s the case.
We are totally boring. But we just call ourselves homebodies instead. 😉
I JUST told my husband that boring is good. lolol
HA! That list kinda fits me to a T so I’m officially boring 🙂
I have always known I was boring. The questions at work I hate to be asked is, “Doing anything fun this weekend?” or “Did you do anything fun this past weekend?”, as I stand there with a blank look on my face. Thinking……what do I say? Oh, I washed clothes, did some reading, fell asleep on the sofa while watching TV, oh, but I did get out a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. I am way older then you and I do not have a family. THAT IS PRETTY BAD!!! That is boring!!
I don’t even go out to eat…lol. You would think I lived way out in the outback or something the way I bunker down for days 😛
I am boring too. LOL
My husband and I are that way too. After working all day and taking care of 3 children, we’re too tired to “go out”. Heck, sometimes we are too tired to even eat out.
