Gomu Collectible Erasers

by TerriAnn

Yet another craze has hit the younger generation. They’ve gotten past the Zhu Zhu, the Silly Bands, and the Squinkies so what’s next? Erasers.

That sounds boring but these are not your usual pencil toppers, they are cute little erasers that can be taken apart and put back together. Stepping up the collectible factor, Spinmaster has now released a new line called Gomu.

There are over 100 erasers to collect in various categories including pet, beauty, gadget, school, and music. Each design comes in three different colors and some are more rare than others. Kids can see how much their Gomus are worth and trade/compare with friends by using the online collection list.

I think you have to be a kid to understand this fascination. My daughter found the Gomu erasers to be so fun! She had a few erasers from the local stationary store (from a Japanese brand) so she was familiar with the idea. She thought the Gomu were so much better. There’s such a variety and most of the parts can be taken off – even the eyes. She said, “I like their buggy eyes!”

Even the nail polish opens to reveal a little brush (made of eraser). You can even remove that from the cap. There are A LOT of small pieces so homes with littles ones need to be careful. As long as they won’t eat it, the pieces are easy enough to assemble back together for even a young child.

The best part is that these are so much more affordable. With the single pack retailing for only 99 cents, your child can use their own money to build their collection or you can get them a little something as they accompany you on errands. If the novelty wears off, they can always be used as normal erasers. It’s pretty funny to see your child try to erase a whole sentence with an eyeball.

Disclosure: I was provided with the above mentioned product(s) at no charge to facilitate this review, which contains 100% my honest opinion.

My kids love these erasers and they are the cutest! What I also love is that 1) they don’t take up a lot of space and 2) they aren’t very expensive at all! Sure beats the silly band phase!
