The Garden View Tea Room is a small eating area inside the Grand Floridian Hotel at Walt Disney World. What a beautiful hotel! The ambiance was amazing and the live music (from the second floor) added just the right touch.
This is such a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of exhausted, sweaty families trying to hit all the attractions in 95-100 degree weather. As we all tried to take in as much air-conditioning as possible, our table was soon ready (reservations are highly recommended). The Garden View Tea Room is a small, intimate area. It was so charming with delicate table settings and a beautiful pastry display.
It overlooked the, well, garden area which was beautifully manicured. My mom mentioned that the setting reminded her of tea a the Ritz, fancy schmancy.
The service was very slow. Maybe it’s supposed to be that way so you wind down and savor the experience. The staff was very friendly but in a mellow kind of way. Each person can order a different brew of tea which runs about $6.95 for an individual tea press, enough for roughly three refills. We had noted on our reservation that we were celebrating an anniversary so it was nice the waitress brought out roses and congratulated my mom and her husband on six years of marriage.
As at any afternoon tea, finger foods are available to order. These dainty snacks are very pricey. We did not get to try any on this occasion but they looked scrumptious. Instead we used this venue for our custom anniversary cake. If you don’t want a massive bill/meal and just want to order a beverage with your cake, try the Garden View Tea Room. It’s the perfect setting for a special celebration or just a vacation treat.

Looks very elegant and pretty (and expensive!). We’ve always just done day trips to Orlando attractions, so I haven’t gotten to experience the nice resorts there.
It IS expensive! That’s why we only ordered tea 🙂 It was a nice setting for my mom’s anniversary though. Maybe one day you can plan to tour some of the hotels just for fun. I’ve read that they are wonderful spots for family photos!
Ah i need to do this, i love high tea! they are booked during DisneySMMC though 🙁 next time
