San Diego Zoo is famous for many reasons. It’s clean, it’s large, and it has a huge variety of animals. The last time I went here was back in 2008 so I’m sorry if this review is a little less detailed than usual. My memory just isn’t working the way it used to. Still, I hope it will give you an idea of what to expect and how this park really is a must-see!
The tram ride provides unique perspectives in viewing the animals. We went in the morning and many of the animals were asleep. You will be doing a lot of walking so, when the temperature rises, you can always opt to take the safari later. The gondolas provide a relaxing overview of the park.
Docents are available for your learning pleasure. This is a great way to tie in a life science lesson. When you’d like some lighter education try catching one of the numerous shows available. They’re cute!
There is such a wide array of animal life here. The species are diverse and many of the animals I had never seen in real life before. I have no idea what that black thing is on the bottom row of the second row but it was pretty cool.
And now, the main reason why you should visit San Diego Zoo and why I wanted to go in the first place – the pandas!
What’s more fun than seeing pandas pigging out? BABY pandas pigging out, while rolling down the slope and getting covered in bamboo! Doesn’t matter what species – all mothers are doomed to being bugged by their kids here and there…
Are you planning a trip soon? Let me know what you think and refresh my memory!
