Friends often compliment me on the savory flavor and perfect texture of my chocolate chip cookies. When I serve them warm, fresh from the oven, the ooh’s, aah’s, and mmm’s multiply. So what is my secret for these ever so scrumptious cookies? This:
Yes, the refrigerated tub of Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is the only way to go (hey, I rhymed!). For some reason, it tastes better from the tub than the roll or breakable squares. I also like that the portion is easy to control and I can make just a few for after an evening meal or when friends come over. The best part? They hold their shape when dipped in milk, so you can let the milk soak in without the cookie falling apart only to land at the bottom of your glass. The next time you just don’t have time to do the whole ‘from scratch’ thing, this is a great alternative. Oh, don’t forget to throw some flour on your face like those Rice Krispies commercials for dramatic effect.
So, even though the cookies you bake may not be homemade, at least they were made at home and happily enjoyed!

Haha!! Well, it is the thought that counts and my kids love the premade dough as well 🙂
True, plus it tastes MUCH better than just store bought!
Ha! You know, I’ve seen the rolls and I’ve seen tubs of other brands of cookie dough, but I didn’t know that Toll House sold their dough like this too!
Yes, the tubs are best for portion control as well as keeping it fresh 😛
I was NOT expecting that! Great secret. I’ll have to keep it all to myself 🙂
Haha, I”m not a good secret-keeper. If someone tells me they like it I immediately blurt out, “Oh, I just used refrigerated dough…” I really need to learn when to speak and when NOT to 😛
I wasn’t that either, but sometimes you got to do things the easy way!
That’s a comfort, especially coming from the mom that can cook 🙂 Hey, at least it’s somewhat fresh and still made with love, right?
You’ve convinced me to give a try.
Let me know if you like it 🙂
In your case, cheaters DO prosper!
It’s not cheating – it’s getting a little extra help 😛
Now that is my kind of secret! Haha
I know – I’m all for these kinds of time-savers and shortcuts 😛
I’ve always used these tubs of Tollhouse refrigerated cookie dough! I buy the huge tubs from BJ’s. 😛
I like to put creative things in the cookies, so I can say it is somewhat like real cooking. 😀
Ooh, good idea! What kind of things – M&M’s, peanut butter chips, nuts? We stopped buying the huge tub because we kept feeling like we HAD to make cookies.
In the past, I have put chopped up pieces of mint Andes Candies, Heath bar chips, and M&Ms. I know there are more things that I’ve tried, but my brain is on vacation today. 😛
That sounds fantastic! I love mint and think that’s an awesome idea using Andes. I also happen to have some Heath Bar chips in my cupboard – I’ll have to try that next. Thanks for the tips and enjoy the brain vacay 😛
Well, it was an involuntary brain vacation. LOL!! I was not part of the decision-making process.
Bwahaha – I know that ;P
