Sometimes the best sights can be found when you are least expecting them. When was the last time you explored your local area through the eyes of a tourist?

Beautiful photo! We definitely need to do some exploring in Atlanta. We went on a hike about 2 weeks ago and it was great to get out and enjoy the local state park.
I only had a little time to spend in Atlanta the last time I was there. It seems like there’s a whole slew of places to check out though!
That is absolutely gorgeous! I wish my area was as pretty. There’s nothing to love here!
You’ve found some local treasures though I’m sure. This just happened to be a cool sight we drove by and it looked cool with the lighting. On a regular, overcast day I’m sure it wouldn’t have been as appealing. Sometimes a new angle/situation is all that’s needed 🙂
That is just so beautiful! You live in such a gorgeous area!
Thank you. It doesn’t seem like it from day to day but I have to say that blogging and focusing more photography has helped me to see things in a new way.
Wow, what a gorgeous photo!
Thank you – isn’t it cool how the sun was shining on just one portion of the area?!
How beautiful!
Thanks – we were on a way to different vantage point of the Golden Gate bridge and I just happened to spot this scene from the passenger seat!
So pretty. I love Northern California!!
Me too. Too bad that means higher costs of living though 🙁
Lovely view! I always try to look at my area where I live as a tourist would. I like meeting up with the Germans that come to Joshua Tree National Park.
Haha, really? Are you sure they aren’t Dutch? If they are driving CruiseAmerica RVs and have lawn chairs they’re probably Dutch 😛 We don’t usually go to the city with this frame of mind but, when we did this time, we had a really great time! We need to do it more often!
Pretty!!! I love to be a tourist (both in my own city and in others)!
That’s so cool. I think we’re going to to have to be more adventurous from now on to discover new hidden finds!
Totally agree, I just never do it myself!
The nice thing about changing your mindset is that it helps see the same old things but in a new way. Just slowing down and trying to see it from the view of someone that was taking a vacation in the area for the first time is pretty neat! It also doesn’t have to be a whole day. Just going taking a walk down the street with a camera can make a huge difference! One time, my parents-in-law brought home some amazing pictures – know where they took them? Around the block that we lived on!
It is just so beautiful!
Thanks – the view was just so breathtaking!
Such a neat picture. Many years ago, I strolled through my downtown with a friend and took pictures of whatever we could find. I need to do that again.
Oh? Did you discover anything new that you never noticed before?
Gorgeous shot! We haven’t been exploring this summer like usual! Hopefully we will get out and about once fall rolls around with the cooler weather!
I hear ya! This weekend was great weather but doing anything out in the sun meant possible sun damage… I think we’re saving our traveling bug for the fall as well.
What a view! I love playing tourist in my own town. Have fun!
That’s great to hear. This was really one of the first times we done this and I quite liked it 🙂 We usually complain about the tourists but it’s fun to flip sides and be tourists ourselves.
ohh… that is pretty!
Yes, the sight really took us by surprise! I’m so glad we had our big camera with us!
Beautiful! Love this picture, what a wonderful view!
Thanks – I love it. The view was totally unplanned as we happened to be driving down a different road. The lighting just made the scene pop!
This is such a great shot.
