Sitting so much really does a number on my back and neck. I was hoping the BackJoy could help me with that. The special shape is designed to help your posture as you sit, preventing long-term damage and pain.
It takes some shifting around to get your buns all the way back and to position yourself straight. Also, your legs must be at least at a 90-degree angle with your feet hanging down or perpendicular to the ground. Once I got the seat under me just right, I did notice a big difference. My lower back muscles were totally relaxed. I was not straining to sit up straight nor was I crouched over. Sitting felt natural and balanced. The only problem was that every time I got up and sat down again, I’d have to position it all over again.
As for the material, it is soft and easy to clean. This means there’s no worry in it getting dirty at public events of from spills. Plus, the BackJoy can be placed on any type of seating and has a handle for easy portability. However, your backside and thighs do tend to get a bit sweaty. I wouldn’t recommend using this if you have pants or a skirt that easily wrinkle and don’t allow much airflow. With the round cutouts, I do worry that damage might be caused to well-padded seats.
The regular BackJoy ($39.99) can be used indoors and outdoors and will work great at sporting events or conferences. For longer, everyday use at the computer, though, the BackJoy Relief+ ($59.99) is a better option. Next time I’ll have to get one that to review!

I’m working on a review for the BackJoy and for the life of me my buns just don’t “situate”. Maybe it’s because my buns are the larger variety?
I’m not sure I’ve had other try it out that had a bit more ‘cushioning’ in the back and it seemed okay. It does take a bit to get it just right though.
