Gillette offered a special promotion to sign up to receive a free Gillet Fusion ProGlide before it’s release. So I entered my information and got our free razor about 2-3 weeks later. When my husband was checking it out, he was surprised to find that it was actually motorized and used a AAA battery (one was included). He turned it on and it looked like a space toy with the neon light and slight buzzing sound.
Now my husband is pretty particular about his shaving equipment. He didn’t like changing the blade all the time so he decided to switch to an electric razor, hoping to save money. His Philips Norelco actually shaved too close which gave him in-growns. The motor on the Remington was horribly loud and did not get close enough, resulting in a 5 o’clock shadow coming in around noon. He then switched to a Schick Mach3 which was okay.
So, getting back to the review I had to convince him to just try this out. It’s been 1-1/2 weeks and he is still using it. I will tell you firsthand that his face is a lot smoother and no in-grown hair. It does not shave as well as at first but he thinks that he just needs to change the blade. Overall he is happy with it and the motorized vibration make the shaving glide and shave better. The only factor that we need to weigh now is whether or not it is cost effective. These blades are more expensive though you can always get coupons and Costco even carries them. But for a smooth hubby whose stubble doesn’t scratch, I’d say the extra will be worth it.

This looks really cool! I know it’s for a man, but who cares if a woman used it on her legs, right? Well, maybe… The vibration thing kinda freaks me out. I’ve never used a razor that vibrates and I imagine the blade going crazy and cutting me to pieces or something. lol! I’m glad it worked well for him! I hate how razors are so expensive. =[ I currently use the Venus razor, it’s the only one that really works for me…. But the refills are like $10! Owch.
