“STOP PLEASE! For Grown-Ups Only!“
That was the bold headline found on The OrganWise Guys In the House! Kit direction sheet. In a small house-shaped carrying case, this kit includes five books and four plush OrganWise Guys. Parents are instructed to hide the plush toys before giving the rest of the kit to their child(ren). After I did that, I let my daughter at it.
She immediately read though the “Getting Started” booklet. The organs featured in this kit are Peri Stolic, Madame Muscle, The Kidney Brothers, and Hardy Heart. Each of the four books focuses on one of these organs as well as a corresponding ‘rule’, or healthy habit. Children must choose one ‘rule’ to work on for a full 7-day week.
My daughter decided on ‘Choose Water’ with the help of The Kidney Brothers. I was surprised at how diligent she was in filling out her daily chart. She even brought it with her on vacation. It was so nice to see her actually WANT to drink water instead of sugary drinks or juices. I am so proud of her! I’ll have to update this record, though, when she fills in what she drank yesterday.
After successfully completing the week (almost), we had her special ‘reward’ waiting for her at the breakfast table.
Strangely, she really likes her stuffed organ (the kidneys come in a pair) and actually had fun incorporating this healthy behavior into her daily routine. Today she will be starting a new ‘rule’ to follow. She’s narrowed it down to ‘Choose Exercise’ or ‘Choose Fiber’. One gives her an excuse to play more while the other deals with poop.
I think this is an awesome product. Through clever cartoon organs, my daughter is learning about her body and ways in which to take care of it. Beginning now will give her a great start in living a happy and healthy life. Getting a plush as a reward is just the icing on the cake. While younger children will also enjoy this kit, I loved that my 11-year-old tween took to the program so easily too. We’ll have to keep an eye on OrganWise’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for update of when new ‘rules’ are available.

I think it’s vitally important…these habits carry into adulthood.
Thanks for the chance.
Studies keep showing how they can predict future health problems in younger and younger kids – it’s evidence that choices we make (or that are made for us) really do affect us later in life.
Great review! I really liked your video – very cute! We reviewed the kit too & although my kids are a bit younger, they really had fun taking charge & being involved in their health choices too. Cheers!
Teaching Healthy habits at a young age is very important, the child will likely become a healthy adult. They need a role mode to help them not start any bad habits, such as over eating, smoking.
Just like most things, the earlier you learn , the better! What you learn as a child, stays with you!
Healthy habits are so important! If kids can start from a young age, they are more likely to continue as they grow older.
Healthy habits taught in childhood carry into adulthood.
a lot of habits they grow up with follows you later in life
it is extremely necessary because what we teach them now will be lifelong habits
I think it is crucial… I had some poor habits and my son is taking after me

I think it is extremely important to learn healthy eating habits at a young age, they learn while they are young then when they became parents they can teach their children the same way. The cycle will live on..
I think it is extremely important. It is even more important that they see us adults being healthy, so they know it isn’t okay to eat junk.

It is very important. Any bad habits they develop during their formative years will likely be with them their entire lives.

I think it is very important to teach children and healthy habits while they are still eager to learn them.

It’s very important to learn healthy behaviors young…they become habit/routine…it’s hard to change once bad habits are in place.
