Green Giant Surprise Talent & I’m A Crazy Seasoning Chef…
Through this blog, there’s a lot of stuff I’ve shared. Still, there’s plenty you don’t know about me yet. One such thing is a talent I have that you might be surprised at (or not).
Now, I’m not a great good and don’t do it that often (I’m trying to do it more now since it’s too expensive to eat out) but I’m a mad seasoning expert. I may only use five seasonings on a regular basis but I can throw them on like the Muppets Swedish Chef, Bork, and it almost always tastes just right. The only difference is that I don’t throw the bottles into the background after using them since I would also have to pick them up afterwards 😛 My main staples are Lawry’s Garlic Salt, McCormick Seasoning Salt, McCormick Italian Seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Green Giant also has a surprise to share – their new Veggie Snack Chips. Finally, a snack chip that won’t bring on the guilt factor after munching a few! Last week we received the Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt and the Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Zesty Cheddar.
The Green Giant™ Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips Zesty Cheddar Flavor are made with real vegetables, 17 grams of whole grain per serving (48g are recommended daily), and are naturally flavored.
Of the two varieties we tried, I preferred this one. The multigrain chip went nicely with the thick coat of cheese seasoning and reminded me of another multi-grain cheese chip I like. Though the chips are supposed to be Zesty Cheddar, they’re not spicy at all and may not even reach the status of ‘mild’. However, the amount used is just enough to keep the flavor interesting.
The Green Giant™ Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips Sea Salt Flavor are made with real sweet potatoes and made with 14 grams of whole grain. Plus, they contains 40 percent less fat than regular potato chips!*Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips (6g per 28g serving) have 40 percent less fat than regular potato chips (10g per 28g serving).
These were a bit to ‘eh’ to me. The sweet potato flavor is very, very subtle, as is the salt. I’ve never been one to like the plain or regular flavor of chips, though. If I’m in a snacking mood, I want savory flavor filling my mouth!
You can find out more about the new Veggie Chips on Green Giant’s Facebook page. I wanna taste your cooking now! But about those chips….they’re crazy good!
I use a ton of garlic salt in almost everything I cook!
Haha! Glad I’m not the only one!
Haha!! I LOVE that crazy chef! We liked both of these chips, I liked the sea salt ones along with a dip, especially pine nut hummus, yummy!
Haha, he was a hoot! I haven’t yet tried them with dip – great idea!
LOL I saw your picture in the chef hat on an ad on your blog and had to come look. Very cute. 🙂
These veggie chips sound good to me.
Thanks for noticing! I was cracking myself up while making it but it seems to have gone mostly unnoticed. Who knows – you may just like those chips…
