Satellite Interview w/ Celebrity Make-Up Artist Gita Bass . . .
Once upon a time, when I was childless, I never left the house without makeup. Now, it’s my norm. Unless I have somewhere special to go or know I need to be in photos for the blog, I generally go ‘au naturel’. Yesterday I had the rare chance to chat with celebrity make-up artist, Gita Bass, whose talent has been demonstrated on the likes of Ashley Greene, Selena Gomez, Katie Holmes, Elizabeth Olsen and Debra Messing.
I love her style and, as a fellow mother, she has an insightful take on beauty and make-up. Check out her do’s and don’ts for those of us that have less than 2-3 dedicated hours a day to make ourselves up:
Great tips, right? I’m so glad Gita mentioned the fact that the looks shown magazines don’t necessary work for everyone. Now I don’t feel so silly when popular color palettes look HORRIBLE on me 😛 I’m definitely digging the fall trend of deep purple/aubergine lip color and those Simple Skincare Cleansing Facial Wipes sound amazing!
Do:
- Take good care of your skin.
- Find shortcuts that are effective.
- See a trend & make it your own.
Don’t:
- Mix too many trends. (i.e. Smoky eye = good. Bright lips = good. Smoky eye + bright lips = look overdone.)
Many thanks go to Gita, again, for answering my questions and ignoring the fact that I said ‘wonderful’ and ‘I need to try that’ a over and over again. These pointers have helped me tremendously. Being a mom is hard work but that doesn’t mean we have to look frumpy all the time.
What are your quickie make-up tips?
