Over the ear, on the ear, in the ear – it seemed like we’d never find a good pair of headphones my daughter could use. They were either too big or terribly uncomfortable for her little ears and head. Headphones made specifically for children seemed flimsy and had horrible audio. Apparently, we weren’t the only parents that experienced this.
One entrepreneurial couple decided that they wanted to make quality tech gadgets for their kids. They succeeded.
The Untangled Pro Children’s Wireless Bluetooth Headphones by Lil’ Gadgets are available in four colors and can be used by kids ages 4 and up (my 13-year-old fit them fine). Though these are designed to connect wirelessly through Bluetooth, a cord is included for items that may not offer that function. The Untangled Pro headphones hold their charge for several hours and turn off automatically. I also like the fact that there’s a mini-USB port to charge. We somehow lost the charger almost immediately so being able to use any of our mini-USB cables was really handy.
Lil’ Gadgets Untangled Pro Wireless Bluetooth Headphones Ages 4+
My daughter wore these comfortably while playing on her 3DS on our recent road trip. There were no complaints of pinching or soreness. Plus, we didn’t have to hear all the Animal Crossing characters with their high-pitched mumbling during the trip. Another good thing was that she didn’t even come close to breaking it – and she’s pretty rough on stuff. It seems the Untangled Pro headphones have even found a permanent home in her Entertainment Bag, the items she brings with her on every sleepover and road trip.
Sound and Controls
I also tested the headphones. I just barely fit them but it was enough to find out a few things. When you turn the volume up, there is some sound leakage. The audio did get loud but it seemed to max out before it became mind-numbing. See what I go through to do a good review for you? To pair the headphones, just press and hold until the light flashes red and blue. Speaking of the light, it would be nice if it changed when the headphones were fully charged instead of just going off. Then I know it’s charged and don’t have to worry that something went wrong in the connection.
