We could not have spent our anniversary at a more perfect place than Casa Palmero – it was so relaxing and romantic!

With our schedules being so crazy lately, we decided to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary early. Frans and I were going to Monterey, CA for a 3-day car event (but we were only attending two days) and decided to stay over one night in the area.

The first time I stayed at Casa Palmero was a few months back, during a work-related road trip. However, I just wasn’t able to enjoy it fully being all by myself in the room. Since there was a *ahem* mishap during my stay, the staff quickly wanted to make things right and offered to host me again.

Service and attention at this establishment is unparalleled. I’ll tell you more about that as the post continues.

Driving to the estate you pass two toll booths, one to enter the 17-mile Drive and one to enter the Pebble Beach Resorts area. If you’re a guest of any of the resort properties, you don’t pay any fees. The person at the first toll booth will check your name against the list of property guest and then give you a personalized parking pass (well, it just has your name printed on a paper with the Pebble Beach letterhead).

Casa Palmero is notified at that moment that you have arrived. By the time you get to the driveway, an attendant is waiting to greet you and load up your luggage. No need to check-in as the attendant has everything all ready for you. After you are personally walked to your room and your luggage has been brought in, you’ll get a brief summary of the room, the amenities, and your breakfast order (complimentary) will be taken. The property only has 24 rooms so it feels quite private.

And then the ‘aah’ sets in. Walking into the room is like entering your own personal oasis. I know that sounds corny but it’s so true! The room was beautiful, a table with snacks and bottled mineral water was set, and all you could hear was the running fountain from your personal outdoor spa. Talk about feeling pampered!

Unwinding and Reconnecting at Casa Palmero

Despite the busy afternoon before and the hectic day after, my husband and I were actually able to wind down and enjoy our time at Casa Palmero. We spent some time in the spa (which was a comfortable 140 deg and not scalding hot like some hot tubs) with the jets going. Then, after rinsing off, we nibbled some yummies by the fireplace. We didn’t get to use the spacious jacuzzi adjoining the bathroom and bedroom but there’s only so much you can do in one night.

It was such a challenge to get up out and the next morning though! It was so quiet and we were so comfortable that we had no choice but to move at a turtle’s speed, no matter how hard we tried to hurry up. Breakfast was delivered right on time. Everything was delicious, even Frans’ gluten-free muffin.

The only downside is that neither of us are golfers so we didn’t play on any of the famous Pebble Beach golf courses. The views didn’t go to waste though. Despite the rainy weather, the scenery was still gorgeous.

Casa Palmero in Pebble Beach is definitely a splurge (spa rooms are listed at $1,055/night) but a worthwhile one. Our brief stay let us celebrate a special milestone anniversary and we’ll never forget the memorable experience we had there. I’d highly recommend it for celebratory occasions.
