Have you seen any Ford Fusions lately? Of course you have! This mid-size sedan has been winning the hearts of many, impressed by the Ford Fusion gas mileage and low starting price. But is it really that good?

2014 Ford Fusion Gas Mileage and Performance
With a modern style outside and room to spare on the inside, this really is a great vehicle. It provides a quiet, smooth ride and has plenty of hot features. Layout is clean and button controls are set neatly and are easily accessible. Yay for the USB port in the console too!
We were driving to San Jose a lot due to events related to BlogHer ’14 and we had plenty of gas, averaging about 30 mpg. The 2014 Ford Fusion gas mileage was pretty impressive. Ooh, this car also featured a capless gas tank. I forgot to take a photo of it but this will prevent things like this happening:
When the Fusion gets to about 65 mph, though, the steering wheel does seem to shake a bit and steering seems much more sensitive. I found that it made me a bit more nervous on the road. Below those speeds, it’s quite easy to adjust to driving. I wonder if it had anything to do with the tires or alignment…
Car Features Both Good and Not So Good
Many features come standard on the SE model such as the remote keyless entry and Hill Start Assist (so you don’t roll back on inclines), which starts at 23,935. The auto start-stop feature was great. The circled “A” told you when it was on, meaning that the engine would kind of go into standby mode when stopped. Stepping on the accelorator pedal would “wake” it up and the engine would go again, saving gas at red lights. You could also turn this off with the press of a button so it doesn’t get irritating when in traffic or different situations that don’t warrant the need of letting the engine stop periodically.
Seats are comfortable so you can just slide and get going. The dashboard display is clear to read and the navigation is simple to use. The lever to adjust telescoping steering wheel is kind of oddly placed since it’s way far back, close to the very end of the steering column, and tucked way in. Frans couldn’t even find it until I told him where it was.
Legroom in second row is decent and, even with a person in the front with long legs, you can still get an average-sized adult behind. The seat belts in the back are kind of bulky and awkward. I found out that it’s because they are inflatable for safety reasons. However, on a regular day-to-day basis, they weren’t to comfortable. The leather seating also seemed to be wrinkling quite a bit and it worries me that tears could be imminent as the surface wears down more.
Meeting the Needs of the Family
The 2014 Ford Fusion is a really smart choice for a family sedan. It’s roomy, has nice features, and does pretty good at keeping your gas costs in check. Even better is the fact that it has tons and tons of trunk space. With the way the space is situation and almost nothing hanging down, that’s all usable room to stuff luggage and, well, “stuff” in. If you’re in the market for something that is simple but that you’ll be happy with, you might want to add the Ford Fusion to your list of cars to check out.

My mother-in-law loves her Fusion. I’ve only driven it a few times, and it took me a little getting used to it. Overall, I was impressed with how nice it felt and loved all of the features. I keep striving for 100% on the brake ranking.
This seems like such a great family car! We have always loved Ford’s such quality automobiles.
That sounds like a great family sedan. Ford’s are known for their quality!
I currently have a Ford and love it. My next vehicle has to be a van but this sure is nice!
I had one of the first Ford Fusions and it was such a breathe of fresh air at the time. My family tends to lean towards Fords in general, but it’s been a few years since we owned one.
The Ford Fusion is a beaut, it’s a nice car. My sister just bought a Ford and it drives so well.
I used to own a Ford and it was very dependable. I love how roomy the trunk is and as a mom of 3 I buy A LOT of groceries, so I need the space.
Looks like a great car- I don’t think I could downsize from my Outback until the kids are done and grown, though!
That on/off thing is such a weird cool feature. In the car I tried with that, the A/C was on and I never even felt a difference when the car was off. It was neat!
The USB port is awesome! My phone runs out of batteries after I look at it twice, so the ability to charge it with a regular cord would be great.
If I were in the market for a new car, this would be on the short list.
Ahh, to have great gas mileage… ha! This is a bit too small for my needs but would be perfect for my nephews. Will have to send on the recommendation.
This looks like such a nice car. I love that the gas mileage is so good. That is perfect with the gas prices we see now.
I really like the look of this car. It seems to have a lot of space.
What a beautiful car!
Wow that thing can really haul! It’s a great color too.
Dang that is one fancy and awesome car! I seriously love the USB port in the console! And the 30 MPG is a dream!
It has such neat features and I love the look of it. It’s beautiful!
I love all the features that this car comes with. I also like that it gets pretty good gas mileage. With the gas prices as high as they are, I have been debating on getting a car that saves on gas.
That looks like a nice car. I can’t believe how much space is in that trunk!!
I just traded in my Ford Fusion but I did enjoy it for the few years I had it, it was a sleek car I had the sport.
Kind of sounds like the tires need to be aligned and or balanced. My car was bought brand new and I needed my tires aligned and balanced because of shaking and my tires wearing down quickly. My mom has a Fusion, and older one, but she loves it. Great gas milage.
Love all that trunk space and you definitely can’t beat that kind of gas mileage. The Fusion would make a great vehicle for my husband, since he mainly drives to work and back.
This seems like a really nice car! I love the shade of red.
Looks like a great amount of trunk space and I appreciate the low gas mileage as well as the inflatable belts.
This car looks AWESOME! I really need a new car!
This is super cool. I love this car. My friend loves hers so much and keeps raving about it.
