Bears comes out today on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital, HD, Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA), and On-Demand! From the makers of Earth and Chimpanzee, this film follows the life of a mama bear, Sky, and her two cubs, Scout and Amber, as they fight for survival in the vast wilderness of Alaska.
Disneynature Bears Movie Review
I had the opportunity to see Bears back in April, even before it was released in theaters. However, I didn’t post a review then for one major reason – I was too tired and fell asleep during the last quarter of the film. How can I review a movie when I don’t know how it ends?! Now that I have received a copy of the movie, I can talk about it with you with a clear conscience 🙂
The landscapes featured are breathtaking and footage of the trio is endearing. I did have a hard time paying attention with John C. Reilly (voice of Ralph in Wreck-It Ralph) narrating the movie as I kept imagining he was saying, “I’m going to WRECK it!” My daughter and her friend found the innocent and light humor refreshing and enjoyable. There was one part almost made me question the family-friendliness of the film but it was resolved and everyone was happy. This is a movie the kids will be sure to enjoy, even the younger ones.
Purchase by August 19th to Benefit the National Park Foundation
When Bears was released in theaters, Disneynature offered a special conservation program. Well, with the release of the in-home editions, they will be continuing that. Here are the details on that:
For every purchase of the movie through August 19, 2014, Disneynature will make a donation through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, to further protect and conserve endangered or threatened wildlife and wild places as well as enhance field research across more than 2.9 million acres of National Park Service land.
So, not only will you get a new movie to add to your family’s collection, but you will be helping a great cause as well.

My daughter loves bears, so I just know she’ll be thrilled to watch this!
I loved the film Bears. We watched it the other day. Those Disney Nature films are always great.
I really want to see this! I love to watch animals in the wild and see how they live and survive!
I want to see it. My little one would probably like it too!
This movie looks great. I know I will enjoy it as much as the grandkids.
We weren’t able to see Bears when it was out in the theaters… can’t wait to pick up the DVD!
I can’t wait to watch this show. I am hoping to bring it to school to share with my students.
We will definitely have to get this move, my kids especially love movies about animals.

I think I’m going to pick up a copy of this for my dad – he really enjoys nature documentaries and DisneyNature does a great job with theirs.
My son and I really enjoy the Disneynature films. 🙂
This movie is so touching, it was one of the best 🙂 Thanks for the sheets!
Awwww. I have wanted to see this for a long time now. I am going to download some of these printables and then get the boys the dvd so that we can turn it into a lesson plan.
I can not believe we have not seen this film yet. I call my son baby bear so he and I were really interested in seeing this together. Looks like I need to make some time over the weekend to enjoy a family movie!
