It’s funny. I would never expect to meet anyone famous in San Bruno, and inside a Lucky Supermarket, but I did. Locals loved being able to meet 49ers Joe Staley in person for autographs, photos, and selfies without having to brave the San Francisco city streets.

Meeting 49ers Joe Staley

Yes, Joe Staley came to the area to meet one-on-one with his fans. Among the mountains of Proctor & Gamble paper towels and toilet paper, this 49ers star made this Lucky supermarket the place to be last Monday night. Some fans came fully garbed in their favorite red and gold apparel.

The line was not too long, though, and it was funny to see some people coming back a few times with new items in their hands to get autographed. To add to that, those that bought $25-worth of P&G products (Bounty, Tide, Secret, Old Spice, Charmin, Olay, Cascade, etc.) at once got a free 49ers beanie.

Lynda of Mommy Powers and I tried to get in a discreet selfie but it was too hard with all the fans in the background. When it was finally our turn, we asked Mr. Staley to stand up so you could see how his 6’5″ stature towered over us 🙂
