For years my aunt would buy nothing but Volvo vehicles. I never really understood what her customer loyalty was based on but I think I do now. The 2015 Volvo S60 is a solid and stable car. The steering is responsive and the car seems to always stays flush with the road, just how it should. The transmission was a slightly noticeable at times but overall offered a smooth and quiet ride.
2015 Volvo S60 Review – Features
The S60 was on the narrow side but was roomy enough as a mid-size sedan. We liked the polished look and refined design inside. Soft-touch surfaces can be found throughout and even the font used for the digital display in the rear mirror was classy. Though it’s not necessary to put the key FOB in the designated slot under the ignition switch, Frans and I found it a handy alternative to chucking it in a cubby or cup holder only to forget it when you get out.
The control panel in the middle takes some getting used to. It all makes sense but the layout is different than it is on any other model I’ve driven. However, all the buttons make sense and are easy to access even while driving.
Just beware of the button that looks to have a head rest on it. I pushed that and suddenly heard my daughter exclaim, “Hey!” Apparently, that button automatically pops the rear headrests down whether or not someone is sitting there, giving my daughter a light bop on her head. Oops!
The trunk itself had more than enough space for a family road trip. The divider that pops up would probably prove useful for a light shopping trip and in preventing the side-to-side sliding that inevitably occurs with a mostly empty space.
The seat warmers were fantastic for the blast of chilly air we were experiencing that week. Make sure you have a good amount of room before attempting a U-Turn as the turning radius is “meh.” The release lever to drop the back seats is actually in the trunk area. This make putting the seats down quite awkward.
The placement of the rear camera is odd. Being on the far left side, I found it difficult to orientate where you were in relation to what the camera showed. It was easier to disregard the display and back up like I would without one.
2015 Volvo S60 Review – A Family Favorite for Good Reason
While the 2015 Volvo S60 is not a wild, racing machine, it is an intelligent choice as a reliable family car. There are plenty of safety features, such as forward collision alerts and visual seat belt indicators for each of the five seats. You will be paying for the reputation and safety standards but those are more than worth it, wouldn’t you say?

This looks awesome! It would be a great family car.
What a nice looking vehicle! I’m especially loving the seats, very nice!
It’s such a fabulous car. What a great review and that would make a great family car.
The interior is so beautiful – love, love, love!
This looks like a great car and I love silver.
I’m digging this, I’ve never tried a Volvo, but I wouldn’t mind giving this a test drive.
Because of their superior safety rating, I’ve always been interested in checking out a Volvo. They used to be so ‘boxy’ looking and utilitarian that you almost felt you had to give up aesthetics for safety…. looks like that’s no longer the case!
My husband is a huge Volvo fan. I do like the lines and body design, but I haven’t had a chance to try one out. Does seem like a lot of buttons on the control panel! But, love that it has a rear-view camera… even if it is oddly placed.
