I discovered something about myself a couple of weeks ago – I’m a Weather Wimp. Yes, all of these years spent in the mild climate of the San Francisco Bay Area (where the temperature stays in the 60s to 70s almost year-round) has spoiled me. Anything hotter or colder than that has me whining like a little baby.
This was very evident during our last trip to Florida as it was hot and crazy humid. It felt like we were melting! To help us survive the weather there, Arctic Cove sent us a few items to try out, including a set of Multi-Wrap cooling towels. Using its CHILLSTITCH technology, these Multi-Wrap towels only need to be wet, wrung, and snapped to help cool you down.
Using Cooling Towels & Misting Bottles
These felt cold right when you put them on and offer some relief from the heat. Due to the weather, though, we did find that we had to re-wet the towels fairly often. Also, we have some big heads in our family. So, though the Multi-Wrap can be worn about ten different ways, we could only use them in a few of those ways. Frans actually liked it around his neck to prevent him from burning (the Multi-Wrap has UV protection).
We also received some Drink N Mist bottles and an 18V Bucket Top Misting Fan. We obvious couldn’t bring the Misting fan with us to Florida in our luggage so we’ll have to try that later. We did, however, use the Drink N Mist bottles. If you’ve ever been to an amusement park in the heat, then you know how nice a cool mist feels.
We used the bottles when we visited Disney Animal Kingdom, which worked out perfectly as this park is mysteriously hotter than the other four Walt Disney World Parks. It’s so weird. I would be careful of the loop on these as ours broke off right away after being filled with water and then holding the bottle by that loop (could have been a manufacturing thing that’s been fixed it the meantime). So, we had to carry the water bottles in our backpacks – no biggies.
If you’re looking for some help in keeping cool, you might want to check out Arctic Cove products. They have a ton of stuff from towel to cooling mist fans. Arctic Cove items can be found at Home Depot, a place I’m fortunately enough to live nearby 😛
