As you probably know, I have been sharing my trips on and writing periodically for Findery, a travel-focused social network. On Findery, users can discover and share experiences, images, links, and travel tips for places they are visiting, have visited in the past, or places they would like to visit in the future. Well, as of last Friday, Findery is now available for Windows 10!
This is a pretty big deal since the new app version was especially designed with the Windows 10 operating system in mind. The app makes use of Cortana’s capabilities so you can simply say, “Findery, show me what’s nearby,” for hotspot suggestions you’re your current location. Or, you can pin your favorite notes (tips) and notemaps (tip collections) to the Start Menu. Windows 10 users will be able to plot their travel experiences or aspirations on a map for ease of planning. For more details, you can see the official press release.
The social part comes in when you can share your travel tidbits with the community, who can then follow, like, and comment on them. These can also be shared to Facebook, Messaging, Microsoft OneNote, Mail, or NFC. With this new release, Findery brings new functionality to Windows 10, exposing a whole new audience to the joys local and world travel.
You can download Findery for Windows for free from the Windows Store.
