I’m usually pretty careful with my cell phones and don’t often drop them. At least that was the case until I got an iPhone 6 Plus (don’t have the “S” yet). I love how much easier it is for me to see and work on but the huge thing keeps slipping out of my hand, pocket, bag, etc. Ever since my poor, poor phone “had a great fall” earlier this year, I’ve been on the lookout for decent custom phone cases.
Especially since the iPhone 6 Plus is so popular, you’d think it’d be easy to find a case that is durable, thin, does’t block the ports, allows the buttons to be pressed easily, doesn’t obstruct the camera or flash, and that looks nice. Not so. Some cases don’t even cover the entire outside edge while others envelop your phone so completely that you can barely use it. Still others are just plain boring. I’ve found a happy medium and thought you might want to check it out too.
Custom Phone Cases
Have you heard of Skinit? I hadn’t until I was contacted to try one of their products out. The company offers personalized skins and cases for a variety of gadgets including phones, laptops, tablets, and more. There are also pre-made designs to choose from but what’s the fun in that?!
I used to have a case with my Cookies & Clogs logo on it and loved it until it broke. So, I decided to go with that design again. There are four types of cases that can be customized for the iPhone 6 Plus. (Custom phone cases can be ordered for other iPhone and Samsung phone models too.) I was drawn to the Pro Case style since it is actually made up of both a hard shell and a liner to absorb impact. The price of $44.99 is on par with other similar cases.
How to Customize Using Skinit
Uploading an image is simple but can take about a minute if the file is large. Basic edits are available in the creation tool including rotate, scale, change background color, and add text. What is displayed on the screen is pretty much what the finished item will look like.
My case arrived pretty quickly and I’m pretty happy with it. The colors are vivid and image came out clear. My logo ended up a smidgen too far to the right but that could have been user error 😛 Here is the finished case:
The case fits snugly but I can still take it off/put it on fairly easily. I also happened to find out firsthand just how well it protects my phone. The day after I put it on, I dropped my phone (figures it’d happen so soon). There were a few scratches on the outer hard case but the phone itself was untouched. Nothing like an unplanned drop test on cement from a couple feet up to conduct a review, eh?
I’ve only been using my new Skinit case for about a month and so far so good. The print quality is high and the product is sturdy. Next time I want to order a canvas print or Macbook decal since I know it will turn out fantastic! Enter below to win a custom phone case for yourself or a loved one!
I received an item for review purposes and to share my honest thought on it. All opinions are my own.
