Many people just need a car to get from Point A to Point B. Others, however, want more. They want a performance vehicle that has a good base to customize and tune as they see fit. Having a reasonable start point will sweeten the deal even more. That is why the 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo was just announced at the 2016 Miami International Auto Show last week.
2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo Launch — Details
Nissan‘s new sedan vehicle is available with 1.6 Turbo engine in a 6-speed manual or unique Xtronic transmission with manual mode. These use less gas and maximize the power you get out of a smaller engine. As expected, the interior has a sporty flair both inside and out.
The steering, suspension, and construction have been revised. Yet, those who like to upgrade their ride will have endless possibilities. At least, that’s what I was told. I’m not a closet street racer so I have to trust the experts on this one. Here are some official specs:
At the heart of the 2017 SR Turbo is its new 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG™) turbocharged engine rated at 188 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and 177 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 – 5,200 RPM – 64 more horsepower and 52 more lb-ft of torque (41% more) than the non-turbo 2017 Sentra SR grade’s 1.8-liter powerplant.
2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo Launch — Tech & Features
The 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo will still offer the exceptional interior space, safety features, and modern technologies as the non-sport version. Options include a Bose system with eight speakers, NissanConnect Navigation and apps, Siri Eyes Free™ Voice Recognition, heated front seats, backup camera, and more. I can’t comment on the drive yet but it should be pretty good.
Do you know any car lovers who the 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo would be perfect for?
I was invited to attend an all-expense paid media trip. All opinions are my own.
