It’s pretty tough to beat the San Francisco Bay Area when it comes to mild weather year-round and an endless number of things to do. But, there are two major drawbacks to living here — high housing costs and increased traffic. That’s why many are packing up and moving inland. They’re tired of increasing congestion and, if they’re looking to buy a house, people can get way more bang for their buck elsewhere. That’s why Whitney Ranch in Rocklin, CA is gaining momentum.
The Appeal of Whitney Ranch in Rocklin, CA
Rocklin sits in the Sierra Foothills and is only thirty minutes northeast of Sacramento. There are fantastic schools and shopping, both basic and high-end, just a stone’s throw away. Whitney Ranch is a gorgeous multi-generational family friendly housing community in Rocklin that continues to grow in popularity. Not only does the development consist of hundreds of new homes, but it also has two top schools on-site, several lush parks, trails connecting the various neighborhoods, and a resort-style community center.
At the community center, homeowners can enjoy two pools (one is a kiddie pool), entertain in the beautiful Lounge (clubhouse), or join in the many events held there. While we were visiting, the staff was setting up for Parents Night Out. This is a community favorite since kids get to do crafts and parents can enjoy four hours of free babysitting!
No wonder Whitney Ranch in Rocklin looks so attractive to Bay Area residents. In fact, one of our friends recently bought a house there. If they tried to buy a house in the Bay Area, the only thing they could afford would be a tiny, rundown, fixer-upper. But, at about half the cost, they now own a brand new 4-bedroom/3-bath home with a two-car garage in a charming neighborhood that’s perfect for their family. How awesome is that?! When I asked why they chose Rocklin and, specifically, Whitney Ranch, he listed many of the reasons pointed out above.
Whitney Ranch “The Ridge” by JMC Grand Opening
Last week, Whitney Ranch held a grand opening for their newest neighborhood, The Ridge, by JMC. Food, painting, and prizes were part of the festivities. This collection of homes was built with family togetherness in mind. The main living space is on the first level with open floor plans connecting the kitchen, dining, and family rooms. Buyers can choose one- or two-story homes ranging from 1,432 to 2,320 square feet. These contain three to four bedrooms and two to three baths. Homes start from the low $400,000s. Four model homes were open to tour during the event. Of course, Frans and I had to check them out. (Click through slideshow for tons of model home decor photos.)
Floor plans featured in The Ridge are perfect for first-time home buyers and those looking to downsize. We also toured model homes in the Ironwood neighborhood by CalAtlantic and the Bristol neighborhood by Taylor Morrison. These floor plans were completely different in terms of features, layout, design, size, and square footage. Really, there’s no shortage of variety! (Another slideshow for you!)
If you want to escape the ridiculous housing prices and traffic in the San Francisco Bay Area, you might want to look into Whitney Ranch in Rocklin. You’ll have a beautiful 3-5 bedroom house for a decent price with good schools, a nice neighborhood, and regular community events. But, at the same time, you’re close enough to the Bay to visit family or do day trips. You can even head the other direction for some quality beach or snow time in Lake Tahoe. Seems like win-win situations all around! So check out Whitney Ranch for your future new home. Oh, and don’t forget to download the app for updates and a community map to help you get around.
I was compensated to visit the property and share information about the event. All opinions are my own.
