When was the last time you described a spatula as ‘cool’? That was the reaction I had when I first saw a tweet/facebook post about Click ‘n Cook.
Click ‘n Cook is a modular spatula system designed to streamline your cooking space. After a few months of production, the physical product is now available to own and I was among the first to be included in the first shipment.
I wouldn’t consider myself to be well-stocked in kitchen supplies. Yet, I do own the basic items such as spoons, slotted spoons, tongs, spatulas, a masher, and a couple of ladles. I have all of my utensils stuffed in a holder that I bought from Ikea. Every time I reach in to pull out a spoon or spatula, everything falls out. I think I even lost one or two behind the oven. This has resulted in much frustration.
The Click ‘n Cook is a very simple item. The handle has its own place in the holder and each of the five spatulas goes in its color-coded slot. I really like the variety of spatula heads, especially the ‘purple one’ that has a monstrously huge surface. So far the spatulas have been great to use. None of the material has melted away or scratched my non-stick pans. All of the items are dishwasher-safe and clean very well. Though there is only one handle, I have actually used the spatula heads by themselves and it works just as well.
To use the spatulas you only need to: 1) Get the handle. 2) Attach it to the desired spatula head. 3) Fiddle with the button to make it stay-it’s a little stubborn. 4) Use. 5) Click button to release spatula head.
The Click ‘n Cook is supposed to replace the clutter but it didn’t do that for me. Spatulas are not usually the only utensil you use when cooking. So, the Click ‘n Cook actually become an additional item to put on the counter. I would have preferred if it had an option to mount it on the wall. That would also require the spatula heads to fit more securely in the holder.
Overall I am happy with the product. I like the variety of the spatula heads and they wash really well in the dishwasher. I have been using them daily as they are sturdy and comfortable to use, with or without the handle. Click ‘n Cook is an innovative product and hope to see it upgraded with a wall mount one day.

They are so much sturdier than nylon. And since it doesn’t melt funny, there are no rough edges either!
