A couple of weeks ago, a strange thing came over me. I actually picked up a wild lizard, petted it, and brought it home. It was totally random and out of character for me.
I happened to find the lizard in the neighborhood. To see if it was alive, I tried to poke it a bit. It didn’t move a first but then it scurried a few inches away. For some unknown reason, I bent over and caught it. The lizard moved so slow that it was surprisingly easy. As I gently held it, I began to pet its head. Weird, I know. The lizard actually liked it! He held still and closed his eyes, I’m sure he would be purring if he could.
Since the lizard was so tame, I figured that it was someone’s pet that got loose. But, as I found out later, it was wild. At first I wanted to keep it but decided not to. We already have two frogs and a dog, plus I didn’t want to get live crickets to feed it. So, we let it free in our front yard and I finally came to my senses.
Usually you hear of stories of children picking up animals and bringing them home. I have no idea what happened to me but I hope I don’t turn into ‘nature girl’ again anytime soon.

Hehe, I should have shown him to you before we let him free!
He is pretty stinkin’ cute!
Strangely, I thought so too. He had a beautiful royal blue stripe on his belly too. Uh, still wishing we could’ve kept him. Too bad he need to eat live bugs – blech!
