With everyone having cell phones these days, you don’t see as many people wearing wristwatches anymore. That seems to be changing as more and more are using watches as a bold fashion accessory. I especially think this is true for guys since most don’t rely on the necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and purses to make a statement that women do. Plus, it’s so much easier to check the time using a watch.
About 14 years ago, my husband got a really nice men’s watch from his parents. It was an expensive brand (can’t remember which one though) and had a great polished design with brushed gold and silver. He loved that watch and wore it all the time. Plus, it really looked good on him. I won’t get all mushy on you but it really added an extra touch of style to whatever he wore.
Sadly, due to an unfortunate accident, his precious watch took a spill on our tiled kitchen floor. Imagine his reaction to find a huge crack across the watch face! We tried to get it fixed but no where nearby carried that type of material. We even brought the watch with us on our next trip to the Netherlands, hoping a specialized watch technician could replace it. They could, but it would cost us a ridiculous amount due the high quality of the glass. So that was the end of my husband’s favorite watch.
Since then we haven’t gotten a new watch for him, especially since he’s so picky about it. I’m glad to see that watches are getting more popular as that means more variety at competitive prices. Plus, more are being made available online. For example, the selection and price variety of men’s watches at ShopNBC is huge! I’m sure my hubby will find something he likes there without me having to drag him to the store.

I love watches. I’ve always worn them. Glad to see they are making a come back.
Really? I’ve been contemplating getting one, especially since it’s irritating grabbing the phone just to quickly check the time.
That’s why I like wearing one. I guess it shows my age to. LOL We always wore watches growing up. And you can find a lot of cute watches for sale at an affordable price.
