This year there were only a couple of items I really wanted to get on Black Friday but, since many online deals were pretty close to doorbusters found in stores, I decided to take it kind of easy this time. About two hours before the store opened, I walked over to Target to check out the line. I couldn’t believe that the line was so short – only about 30 people! So I plopped myself in line and waited.
Black Friday (ahem, I mean Black Thursday now)
Of course, I brought some things to keep me busy. This was the perfect time to get some blogging done, old school style. The atmosphere was pretty calm but the people around me were talking pretty loud. I was so happy when Frans came over and brought my Plantronics BackBeat FIT headphones over.
Plantronics BackBeat FIT
I received these a short time ago from Verizon and they fit great, even with my glasses. They’re discreet, comfortable, have good sound, and keeps a good amount of surrounding noise out. The BackBeat FIT really helped to block out all the distractions, especially the guy behind us that kept asking me about my iPhone 6 Plus every five minutes…
As the opening time neared Frans and I just enjoyed hanging together, each listening to music on our own phones. This did wonders in keeping us mellow despite the mounting shopping tension of other customers. Well, the snacks that Target handed out 15 minutes before helped too.
When the door opened, we strolled in, grabbed the items we were there for, purchased them, and were out of there in under an hour. This was the easiest Black Friday by far and we were home to open our new goodies by 6:45pm 🙂
Did you brave the Black Friday crowds and/or score any deals?

No Black Friday here but the Christmas tree I bought last weekend was 20% off this weekend so I can go back in with my receipt and get my savings.
Well it looks like you came prepared! I hope you got everything you needed.
No shopping here, but I like how you had everything planned out.
Black Friday isn’t for me, but this sounds like a nice device! 🙂
I went out Friday morning to get the .99 cent poinsettas at Home Depot and that was it.
I didn’t go out at all this year. I’m so lame! I may yet look around today for Cyber Monday deals though. Those earbuds look great and I’m glad they blocked the noise!
If I can’t get it online, I don’t bother…those lines scare me!
That was a smart way to stay de-stressed in line waiting! I probably wouldn’t have thought of that 😉 I only braved Trader Joe’s on Black Friday – all my other shopping was done online.
