We all know how Angry Birds has taken the world by storm. Now, they’re taking on the animal kingdom in Angry Birds Playground: Animals by National Geographic Kids. In this hardcover 128-page book, the feathered birds with anger-management issues explore five different regions around the world to find out where the bad pigs are hiding their eggs. Children from Pre-K and up will learn about animals from each region and their habitats, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. The book also includes a quiz you and your child can take together, as well as some bonus activities.
Being from National Geographic Kids, it goes without saying that photographs included are amazing. The text is a bit bigger so it’s really intended for the younger crowd which includes those that can’t read (you need to read it for them) and those just learning to read on their own. I found it a bit strange to have speech bubbles coming from the Angry Bird characters but children will enjoy the silly comments they make. This combined with some colorful drawings gives off an almost comic book-like feel.
If your kids enjoy both animals and Angry Birds, this is the perfect combination of both worlds!

CUTE! I bought one of the National Geographic Angry Birds books for my oldest for Christmas!
Really? How fun! Which did you get – the dinosaur one or the one with the real bird with an Angry Bird’s face?
I bought the one with the real bird with an Angry Bird face! I really thought about getting the Space one, too, but I decided to wait for the kid’s birthday!
How fun is that? Man, I wish I had come up with angry birds, lol.
Doesn’t everyone? Who else gets rich from flinging birds at buildings and green pigs? 😛
That looks pretty cute!
It is. Plus, the silliness is perfect for little ones 😛
