Now, I don’t usually get nervous when I head off to conferences… but I am this time. I’m not sure if it’s because Mom 2.0 Summit has become synonymous with swanky, upscale, and pro level when it comes to conferences for parenting/lifestyle bloggers or if it’s just the new experience in itself that is unnerving. Regardless, I leave on Wednesday so the pressure is building. I did attend Dad 2.0 Summit (a spin-off conference aimed towards fathers/men) with Frans last year in San Francisco but this one is a beast of another level!
Mom 2.0 Summit — April 27-29, 2016 in Dana Point, CA
Among those in my social media circles, Mom 2.0 is THE conference to attend. Top-tier speakers are lined up (Rita Wilson was just announced for the closing keynote), amazing sponsors have signed on, and the schedule is jam-packed with workshops and helpful panels. Of course, the drool-worthy location where the conference is generally held doesn’t hurt either. This year Mom 2.0 Summit (or 2.016 as it is being called) is at the Ritz-Carton in Dana Point, CA from April 27th to 29th, and the beach looks soooooo inviting!
A somewhat new portion of the conference is the Hollywood-style Iris Awards ceremony. There, leaders in the blogging/vlogging/live streaming space are recognized for their achievements of the past year and gifted a physical award. It’s quite the posh affair and I plan on bringing the best evening wear I can muster up 😛 I can’t wait to find out which of my talented colleagues end up winning each category (nomination and voting periods have already passed).
Mom 2.0 Summit — THE Place to Be
Basically, it seems like you have to be at Mom 2.0 to get a boost in the blogging world. Attendance is so coveted that tickets (which cost about $500 each – ouch!) are often sold out as the sale is announced. This year is no different. Fortunately, this wasn’t an issue for me. Kia Motors of America, one of the conference sponsors, generously offered me one of their allotted tickets. Thanks to this, and being able to find fantastic deals for my flight and hotel stay, I will be able to attend this much-talked-about conference for the first time.

Thank you! Strangely, I’m actually more nervous than usual. I’ll let you know how my first experience there is!
