It’s one thing to have a good mattress. It’s another to have a good mattress PLUS a DownLinens Luxury Feather Bed. It was so not what we expected!
Our mattress already had a pillow top so we figured that the feather bed it would make our bed way too soft. That wasn’t the case at all. Super comfy! Seriously, every time we lie down my husband and I both sigh, “Aaaah!” It’s like we just melt into the mattress topper. The only problem is that it is terribly hard to get out of bed in the morning now.
After the feather bed was taken out of the package and laid on the bed, it ‘poofed’ up to about 3-4″ high. The density was thick enough to add cushion without taking away from our current mattress’s firmness. As we’ve come to expect from DownLinens, the quality of fabric and stitching is top notch. I hate having to deal with lower quality down items that have quills poking out and stray filling flying out.

Some may have an issue with the added height. Our mattress cover could only wrap around the mattress pillow top. However, our fitted sheet had no problem and even had room to spare.
We didn’t think we’d like the feather bed as much as we have and now we’re never taking it off (well, we’ll air it and wash it of course)! I’m sure my daughter agrees. When she *thinks* I’m not looking, I’ve caught her rolling around on it and making snow angels in the fluff. It’s so awesome!

That looks heavenly! I’ve been wanting a mattress topper so bad and this looks like a good option.
Curious if you are still happy with your DownLinens featherbed? I am looking for a reasonably priced featherbed (for just my 1/2 of our king bed) and want something that is comfortable, yet will hold up over time. Would love to hear an updated review. 🙂 Thank you!
Unfortunately we had to stop using it because both my husband and I need a firmer surface. Plus, our bed already had a pillow top and the featherbed was too soft on top of that. Sorry I can’t comment on the longevity of it!
