If you were asked which moments make you smile, what would you say? When asked to do a sponsored post about theΒ “A Reason to Smile” campaign with SocialMoms and Dreyer’s, I had a bit of a challenge in pinpointing something specific. Obviously, most of my special times are experienced with my family. But what’s one moment that stood out? I’d have to say it was back in April.
My “Reason to Smile”
Frans, Munchkin, and I took a mini road trip up north to Redding and LakeΒ Shasta. Since the trip was only about 10% blog-related this time it was supposed to be relaxing. Yeah, like who is actually able to relax on vacation?!Β In the three days of our trip, we ended up packing in too many things to see and do and were constantly rushing from place to place. Plus, our second to last stop ended up taking three hours longer than expected and threw off our itinerary completely. After arriving at our hotel after midnight, being pooped and sleeping in,Β we even had to skipΒ seeing the Old Faithful here in California and doing the Jelly Belly factory tour since it got too late. We were able to enjoy our tour at Mrs. Grossman’s Sticker Factory, though, and I snapped this shot:
Seeing my husband and daughter playing withΒ stickers together was too cute. Frans was being silly and totally played along, making a very creative monster truck card. As for Munchkin, despite her teen stature, I was reminded that she’s still my little girl π
Now it’s your turn. What’s your reason to smile? Share yours and you can help a child regain their smile.
Help Dreyer’s Donate 500 Surgeries to Operation Smile
Dreyer’s wants your help in donatingΒ to Operation Smile through a special “A Reason to Smile” campaignΒ on Facebook this summer. Post your own photo or share one from the Dreyer’s Facebook wall and be sure to tag it with the hashtag #ReasontoSmile. For every photo,Β Dreyer’s will make a donation towards reaching that goal of giving 500 children a life-changing surgery to help correct their cleft lip or cleft palate, giving them the kind of smile every child should be able to show off.
If you’re havingΒ a hard time coming up with a “moment” to share, why not make a new one? Dreyer’s has some new limited-edition flavors including Dreyerβs Grand Ice Cream Summer in the City Cheesecake and Fun βn the Sun Banana Split (also comes as Dreyerβs Slow Churned Light Ice Cream). We got the Fun ‘n the Sun Banana Split and it was yummy, especially with a little extra syrup drizzled on!
So don’t forget to likeΒ Dreyerβs on Facebook andΒ postΒ your “A Reason to Smile” photo on Dreyerβs Facebook page with the hashtag #ReasonToSmile.
Will you be submitting a photo to help 500 children find “Reason to Smile”?
This blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Dreyer’s blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.

That is not only a great cause, but a wonderful reason to eat some ice cream!!
A great cause and campaign. And you might as well take a little snack break while you’re doing some good!
Great cause + ice cream = Amazing. My family is my reason to smile. Especially my son as he walks around and says “I’m funny!”
Ice cream always makes me smile! So why not pay it forward and help deserving kids with Operation Smile – they do wonderful things and work for children!
This is such an important campaign. A great way to make people aware of a problem and have a hand in the solution.

I have always been a supporter of Operation Smile and everything they do for those children in need. A beautiful smile is something we all take for granted but for those that aren’t as fortunate, it’s a true blessing.

And yep, I was shaking my head about the older kiddos still having some little kiddo left in them. My 15 yr. old does from time to time too…we just saw it when she was coloring her little brother’s children’s menu at the restaurant. π
Hey now don’t give me excuses to eat ice cream! Okay you pulled my arm, I’m totally going to go get some for the house now π
What a fun memory, I love daddy moments! Also love that proceeds go to a good cause.
How could anyone not! What a great campaign, I love to see companies making a difference!
What a great cause! Many years ago I did some charity work related to cleft palate and it was some of the most rewarding work I have ever done. I still remember the details of the children’s faces and how happy they were.
Slow churned is the BEST! Plain old regular vanilla is my favorite for summertime.
What an easy way for us to contribute into giving back to something good! Kudos to Dreyers too.
Finally an excuse to eat ice cream… This is a wonderful program. I love vanilla or anything with caramel
