Fandango is a vintage French restaurant that feels like a distant relative’s house. The decor is simple and somewhat traditional. The food? Tasty, nicely plated, but a tad on the expensive side. Families will appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and rustic feel. On a cool coastal evening, sitting next to the fireplace is so cozy.
Fandango French Family Restaurant
Food was good but portions were on the small side. The French Onion soup was delicious and we appreciated the fact that the chef was willing to omit the bread (wheat/gluten) so my husband could eat it. Filet Minion was cooked just right and the sauces complimented it nicely.
Service at Fandango is a bit . . . different. The staff is helpful but not necessarily friendly and over-jovial. Remember, this is a French restaurant. Waiters are a bit ‘matter of fact’ but they are helpful.
Overall, we had a good experience at Fandango. The check was much higher than we’d typically pay so I’m not sure if it’s one that would be a regular stop during trips to the coast. However, it’s definitely a good place to go if you’re tired of the typical fast food fare.

I love the realness and honesty in all of your reviews! I have been wanting to explore French cuisine a bit more in depth and hope to travel there someday as well.
It looks cozy. I imagine that is why French women don’t get fat – their portions are smaller than what we are accustomed to. Thanks for the review.
Being from the South I’d probably think the waiters down right rude. Cultural differences and all that. 😉 Love the decor!
Way to be very honest in your reviews. Thanks for sharing!
I think most french restaurants are a tad or more on the expensive side. Looks amazing!
We ate there several months ago and the service was phenomenal. I thought everyone was friendly and the owner was extremely sweet, I agree that it’s very expensive and the portions are a bit small, but we enjoyed our meals and would definitely go back again, when we have the budget for it.
This looks and sounds like a wonderful restaurant. I would love to try it out if I ever am visiting the area.
Mmmm — I haven’t had French Onion Soup since going grain -free. LOVE that the chef accommodated your husband.
The food looks amazing. I love that it is family friendly, it is so hard to find nicer places that are welcoming to children.
I would love to try this once to taste the authentic food. But would then probably go back to friendlier, more affordable places. 🙂
I love a good French Onion soup.
I prefer a pleasant, but matter of fact wait person. Some are simple a bit much.
This sounds like a great place to grab a bite to eat. If I’m ever in the area I will definitely have to check it out.
It looks good but I would have to balance price with quality. I love the looks of what appears to be sherbet and I love French Onion soup.
I appreciate the honesty of your reviews. It is very unlikely I’ll ever have the chance to visit this restaurant so thank you for sharing such nice photography of the location.
Sounds like a great place to try! I like to splurge once in a while.,
That food sure does look delicious!
That food looks amazing!!
It all looks delicious but I’m sure it’s out of my budget!
The food looks really good! I hate when you pay more for smaller portions!
