Let Your Tween’s Inner Fashionista Out w/ FPgirl

FPgirl by FashionPlaytes Tween Fashionista Clothing Design, Product Provided…

My daughter has never been a ‘girly girl’, let alone a fashionista. However, she does enjoy coming up with her own clothing designs and has a sketchbook full of them. The coolest thing for any young designer is wearing clothes they made. That’s what FPgirl by FashionPlaytes is all about.

Tweens can customize their own apparel with various trims, prints, embellishments, and more and it will arrive at their doorstep about two weeks later. My daughter decided to make a shirt and a pajama set. She had so much fun choosing all the details. The FP Design Studio was pretty self-explanatory. I could just sit back and let Munchkin at it. There’s also an additional set of items for younger ones to choose from in the Junior Design Studio.

Prices can add up quickly so make sure you set some price limits for your designer in training. Otherwise they’ll rack up those extra trimming and embellishment costs. Also, the site runs extremely slow and will call for a bit of patience.

Being 12, my daughter had to order XXXL in one item (I forgot which) according to the site’s sizing chart. I was a bit worried but everything fit her perfect. A measuring tape comes in handy when choosing which size(s) to order.

We were both really happy with the final products once they arrived. Doing the design all by herself and then actually being able to wear them really gave my daughter a boost of confidence. You should see how proud she looks to show her friends what she made as they say, “That’s so cool!” Oh, and they are actually comfortable for her too, especially with the tags being sewn on the outside. I was pleased with the quality of work. Loose threads weren’t hanging all over and the prints stayed intact even after a washing and drying.

I would definitely recommend trying this service if you have a child or teen interested in fashion, is a fashionista, or is just very picky of what they like to wear. Trying to replace a whole wardrobe with a custom FPgirl line will likely cost a small fortune but designing and ordering a piece or two ‘once in a while’ will be something they’ll enjoy and treasure.

I was provided with a gift certificate to try the service mentioned above. All opinions are 100% my own.
