Since we found out that Frans has celiac disease, we rarely eat out anymore. The danger of cross contamination and handling of the food by staff not trained to deal with allergies is just too high to risk it. So, we’ve been doing a lot of cooking at home. That also means keeping our cabinets and refrigerator pretty well stocked most of the time.
All About Lucky You Rewards
To help keep costs down as much as possible, I was happy to learn about the new Lucky You Rewards program from Lucky Supermarkets. Signing up for an account is free and can be done via the Lucky Supermarkets mobile app, online, or in-store. I set up my account in just a couple of minutes. You can then access the program on your desktop or laptop and on your mobile device.
As you shop, you gain points. Those points can then be redeemed for free items or discounts off your total shopping bill. Just for filling out my information I received 100 points instantly – whoo-hoo! 200 more and I can get a $3 off reward! Rewards change often and you earn one point for every dollar you spend at Lucky and Save Mart Supermarkets.
Lucky You also provides all the tools you need to get your shopping done. You can create a shopping list, add digital coupons, and even check out new recipes. The shopping list can be created manually or you can scan through the weekly ad and click items to add them.
When going through the digital coupons, just click or tap the “Add to My Account” button to get the savings automatically the next time you purchase that item at the store. Easy peasy.
Suggested Recipes & Meal Plan Help
My favorite feature is the Recipes section (called Recipes & Cooking online). Here you will find an assortment of dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snack, etc. Not only are the measurements and directions shown, but you can add the ingredients directly to your shopping list. Save your favorite recipes to your Recipe Box (called My Saved Recipes online) for next time.
Another great feature is the section on meal plans. Meal plans can be found online only and provide a week’s worth of food ideas. The site says, “Whether you’re interested in weight loss, heart health, diabetes management, or gluten issues – we can help.” I love the suggestions I’ve seen so far for diabetes, weight loss, and heart health but nothing for our gluten-free family is posted yet. Maybe those plans are still in the works.
Online VS Mobile
I find it easier to do most of my shopping list creation and looking for digital coupons on the main online site. There’s just a lot less scrolling involved than doing this on my iPhone. Still, the mobile app is ideal for actually going into the store and checking items off the list as you put them in the cart.
There also the option of e-mailing the list, which is what I’ll be doing more of for Frans. As of now, I just send him a text with the items we need but it’s a pain to type everything out and I tend to forget stuff when doing that. An email of the household list would be so much more efficient!
Have you signed up for Lucky You Rewards yet? Well, if not, there’s no time like the present. Just click here to get started or download the app (in the App Store or Google Play) and sign up through that. You have nothing to lose but tons to gain!
Thanks to Lucky Supermarkets, enter below to win a $50 store gift card to get rolling on those savings!
I was compensated for this post as part of my collaboration with Lucky Supermarkets. All opinions are my own.

I am 80 years old and do not know how to use the Lucky reward Program
First, you have to sign up for it at https://www.luckysupermarkets.com/rewards/my-rewards#Account or in the mobile app. Then you have to check for the rewards. It might be confusing to walk you through the process in this comment so I recommend asking someone nearby who can take you through it step-by-step. That’s what I would do for my mom since giving her directions over text versus over the phone or in person frustrates her.
