Dogs are WAY more than just pets. They’re family. That’s something I never really grasped until we got Speckles. We’ve become accustomed to her bolting through the door to greet us when we get home, staring at us while we eat like she’s never been fed in her life, and tossing toys at us until we tug for it or throw it back. When she’s not here (maybe while out with another family member or being puppy-sat), a quiet emptiness seems to fall upon our home. It’s no wonder that we do our best to keep her healthy and happy.
The Way to a Dog’s Heart
Nothing makes dogs happier than food, specifically dog treats. Say “treat” at a dog park and you’ll instantly be the best friend of every pup there and somewhat covered in drool. Tons of treats on the market these days are actually full of junk. Coloring, fillers, byproducts (aka leftover meat ickies), and sweetening ingredients seem to be common despite their harmful effects. I recently learned about a family-owned company called Spot Farms.
I was compensated for this post and sent samples for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
Spot Farms Dog Treats
Spot Farms produces all natural dog treats that are made from 100% human-grade ingredients. That means it’s good enough for you to eat, although you really shouldn’t. Antibiotic-free chicken, turkey, and pork are sourced from farm families across the country and each package tells you a little about where the ingredients came from.
These treats are:
- 100% made in the USA using farm raised, antibiotic-free chicken, turkey and pork
- 100% human-grade ingredients
- Free of fillers like corn, wheat and soy
- No artificial preservatives, flavors or colors
Several varieties are available. Also, a new line of Chicken Jerky treats with health boosting ingredients (Heart Health, Skin + Coat, Hip + Joint, and Serenity) are now at Unleashed by Petco. Speckles’ likes the Turkey Meatball with Cranberries best. She enjoys them so much that it was tough to stop her from stealing one during my mini photoshoot.
Turns out that her least favorite is the one she needs most. With her CCL issues, Hip + Joint contains what she needs to get those legs strong. But, like a little kid, Speckles will only take it if she has to.
Despite this being a young company, you can find Spot Farms treats at many mainstream retailers. These include Petco, Unleashed by Petco, Wag.com, and Amazon.com. In Canada, Pet Supplies Plus and Pet Supermarket carry them.

I’ve been looking for some new food for my dog, he’s very sensitive. I’m going to have to check this out.
Oh, I love this! I’d never heard of this brand before, but will check at Pet Supplies Plus this weekend. I want to give our dogs the very best. They deserve it!
OH these sound fabulous and just what I need for my Jack Russell Terrier. I love my pets and feel feeding them wholesome healthy foods is important as I want to keep them around for as long as possible.
I’m sure she would! She loves treats when we are training her.
