Kyocera Brigadier – Stylish, Powerful, Sapphire Shield Strong

The Kyocera Brigadier was provided as part of my participation as a #VZWBuzz Lifestyle Ambassador. All opinions are my own.

It’s great having a new smartphone. It’s not so great when you drop, scratch, bend, crack, or dunk it accidentally. That’s why so many run out and get a heavy duty case as soon as possible. The problem with that is that your once sleek shiny toy is now packed in an obstructive case that offers no promises of preventing future damage. Last year, I was able to test out the Kyocera Torque and it survived quite a bit. With technology improving at unimaginable speeds, Kyocera has stepped it up with their newest offering – the Kyocera Brigadier. It was the perfect companion on our glamping trip this month.

Kyocera Brigadier – A Glamping Must-Have

The entire face of the Kyocera Brigadier is unlike any other as its made with sapphire, a mineral only second to diamonds in hardness. The Sapphire Shield display is virtually scratchproof and several times more durable to impact damage. Knowing that, I didn’t mind recording my first lesson in archery from BEHIND the target.

I never would have tried this with anything else. In fact, our GoPro was safely recording from somewhere Frans and I couldn’t destroy it.

While we were touring the grounds of Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, our guide told us that jazz music is piped in under the saline water in the main pool. Since all of us were in regular clothes and had no extra time during the trip to take a dip in the pool, we just had to take the guide’s word for it. Or did we? With the Brigadier on hand, I just popped that baby in to see if this feature was legit. Very cool indeed.

Kyocera Brigadier – Ready to Handle Almost Anything

The Brigadier can also handle the loud outdoors (or indoors, depending on where you are) thanks to the Smart Sonic Receiver. That means the entire glass becomes a speaker via vibration. The back might suffer from cosmetic scratching if you do something like run it over with a car or throw it hard on a rocky terrain but the functionality should be fine.

Other features include a touchscreen that can be operated with any gloves or when wet, option to magnify the display and use Dura Grid for bigger icons, an 8MP camera on back / 2MP on front, and can withstand dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, and more.

If you are rough on your phone or just have an active lifestyle, the Kyocera Brigadier maybe perfect for you. It’s packed full of features, is very fast and responsive, has a clear and bright display, can handle most abuse you can throw at it (or throw it at), looks sharp. Plus, right now, this phone is only $99.99 on verizonwireless.com with a 2-year contract. For those that might be nervous about operating any tech for fear of breaking it, the Kyocera Brigadier is up to the challenge of keeping you connected!

What kind of smartphone abuse have you been known to cause?

Fortunately I have yet to have any kind of damage to my smartphones. Our daughter however did have hers fall out of her pocket and the corner was damaged with a small crack. She’s going to have to wait until next year to get a new one though 😉

I’m notorious for dropping my phone. I would be writing snail mail if it weren’t for some strong cases. I need to look into this.

I am a habitual phone dropper, so I could definitely use one like this that can withstand my abuse!
