Field Trips add color and depth to a child’s learning. Being in a new environment, doing experiments, and learning hands-on enriches their education. Lessons come alive and real-world application help give meaning to the words they’ve read about in their books. I’ve especially found this to be true in homeschooling and have seen the benefit my daughter has gained in regularly going on field trips.
Unfortunately, not all are able to go on field trips perhaps due to their economic status or the income bracket of the neighborhood/school. In fact, a study was conducted last year from The American Association of School Administrators that showed more than 50% of school districts would be eliminating field trips from their programs. That’s upward of 30,000 schools. Can you imagine that many children missing out on the one thing you and I would always look forward to – our class field trips!
Lunchables Lunch Combinations feels that all children deserve to experience going on a field trip in their new program “Field Trips For All“. This will give some children opportunities for learning that they may not have otherwise. This is a great contest that will help so many children. To enter, anyone from 6 years old and up can nominate a classroom at http://www.lunchables.com/potential/. At the end of the contest, 50 classrooms will be chosen to go on a very special, educational field trip. I nominated the Charter school we work with since their children come from many different backgrounds and some must sacrifice a second or third income to give their child the attention they need.
Who would you or are you going to nominate? Feel free to leave your comment below.
