I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Marriott Rewards. I received Marriott Points to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
In the beginning of the year, I told you about the Year of Surprises contest from Marriott Rewards®. To celebrating its 30th year, Marriott Rewards invites people to nominate a family member or friend to receive the most memorable surprise party of their life whether it was for a big graduation, a milestone anniversary, or any other special occasion.
For us, it was a HUGE year of milestone anniversaries, engagements, and weddings. My sister and her husband were quite pleased with their surprise 25th anniversary gift, as were my mom and her husband with the in-home catering we did for their 10th. I guess what goes around comes around as the family threw Frans and I a surprise 10th anniversary party a few years ago 🙂
Marriott Rewards Year of Surprises Continues
We’re in the last of the three nomination periods and nominations will only be accepted until the end of August – so nominate your loved one ASAP! Not sure who to nominate and for what? Check out the party recaps from two of the eight winners chosen so far.
This one celebrated life and love:
Engagement Party for Stephanie and John in Leesburg, VA
Stephanie, 26, has been through a lot over the past year. Her BFF, Cameron, knew she deserved a celebration of a lifetime. This year, Stephanie has triumphed over brain surgery and a stroke. A year ago the doctors thought she would never walk again.
Now, not only is Stephanie walking, she spent the evening dancing to her favorite country songs with her fiancé, John, and their family and friends. The party incorporated aspects from their wedding, scheduled for March 2015, including teal accents, a gourmet BBQ, country-themed cake and, of course, the live country band! You can see their video recap at youtu.be/AoTGKqIEVbo.
Here’s one for something completely different:
High School Graduation for Courtney in National Harbor, MD
Dwayne Stevenson was our first lucky Year of Surprises winner and he chose to throw a surprise graduation party for his eldest son, Courtney. Courtney’s family moved from Texas during the middle of his sophomore year of high school, which was a very hard time to leave his friends. Dwayne wanted to throw his son a surprise graduation party to celebrate the important milestone before Courtney heads off to college in the fall. Courtney’s friends and family came from all over the country to celebrate with him. His video can be seen at youtu.be/cpdKMHv0PTs.

The rewards program is the best, love them!
I love my marriott rewards program. It’s amazing all the benefits you can get from it.
My sister deserves a surprise party. Her medical concerns have been a huge burden on her emotionally and I would love to lift her spirits.
This is such a wonderful program! My dad and MIL both deserve a surprise party, as they’re two of the most caring and helpful people that I know.
