In honor of the upcoming release of Disneynature’s MONKEY KINGDOM, our blogging group visited the Los Angeles Zoo to learn more about these amazing creatures. Of course, it was nice to have a stuffed version of the movie’s star, Maya, along for the tour.
MONKEY KINGDOM Maya & Me at the Los Angeles Zoo
Our mini tram caravan slowly trekked from one monkey exhibit to another at the zoo. The species we saw included the Chimpanzee, Buff-Cheeked Gibbon, Moustached Guenon, François’s Langur, Black Howler Monkey, Kikuyu Colobus Monkey, Siamang, and Red Uakari. I loved seeing all of the babies too!
We spent the most time at the Siamang exhibit. These two were on fire!
MONKEY KINGDOM Opening Week Promotion
Again, the purpose of our visit to the zoo was to bring attention to the new movie. MONKEY KINGDOM hits theaters this Friday (May 17, 2015) and a very special promotion is being held.
See MONKEY KINGDOM opening week (April 17-23) and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to Conservation International to help protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats. Learn more at http://nature.disney.com/monkey-kingdom.
This is a great way to watch an enjoyable family film and, at the same time, play a small part in helping to protect these amazing creatures. Your kids will thank you and so will Maya.

I was invited on an all-expense paid media trip as a guest of Disney and Marvel in honor of the Avengers Age of Ultron movie. All opinions are my own.
