New Smartphone Blackberry Z10 Design & Keyboard, Product Provided For Review…
Have I ever considered getting a Blackberry? Definitely and adamantly “no”. Why? Well, they’ve always just been plain ugly to me. I know many that live by the keyboard and business features of Blackberry phones but I just could not get past the aesthetics. Does that make me a shallow techie? Perhaps. Well, all that futile resistance went out the window when this Blackberry Z10 arrived:
Okay, say it with me now, “Ooh, pretty…” Yes, for the first time in the long history of me and cell phones, I can actually be proud to tell someone I own a Blackberry. In fact, you might have even caught me showing it off here and there. The packaging in itself was mighty fancy with a frosted jewel case and a bluetooth speaker included.
The design is sleek, it’s super light, and it fits just perfectly in my hand. I was a bit weary of taking off the back cover to get to the SIM card and battery area but it was fairly flexible, as the directions pointed out. Oh, in case you need to take a screenshot, just press the up and down volume button at the same time.
If you haven’t noticed, there’s been a MAJOR change to the new Blackberry smartphone – the physical keyboard is gone! Don’t worry though, the new one is even better. No more fumbled auto-correct typos and subsequent embarrassing texts. No, this baby has a perfectly-sized digital keyboard that actually learns your typing style.
It wouldn’t be an understatement sot say that this is my absolute favorite feature and one which scores the Z10 some serious points in my book. I can actually type at a normal speed and not have to backspace all the time! I still have to learn how to NOT use the suggested words but most of the time they’re right on anyway.
The Blackberry Z10 has really blown away any preconceived ideas I may have had about the company. It still miss my Instagram and Hootsuite so I’ll need to find some replacement social sharing apps. This phone is currently $199.99 with a 2-year contract with Verizon or $599.99 with no contract – about the same price of the other two iconic phones out now.
There are some other special features that especially stand out to me and the camera performs well. I’ll tell you more about those two things in the upcoming posts though 🙂

I saw the commercial for that phone the other day & had to rewind it when I heard “BlackBerry”! It looks awesome!

That’s not your mama’s Blackberry, for sure! Wow, what an overhaul.
I wonder how BlackBerry loyalists feel? My sister had one for many many years and loved it because of the keyboard. When she heard they were ‘upgrading’ she went for a Samsung instead because she was “losing” her physical keyboard anyway.

It looks like a nice phone, certainly it would be an upgrade from my Trac phone, buwahhaha, I’m not kidding. The kids have smart phones (the grown ones) and hubby and I still buy a card every so often for minutes, lol. We’re going to upgrade, someday. At least we’re talking about it now, which is more than we were before. 😉

Terri, I’m a fan of the ultra big screen phones but am seriously impressed with the Z10, it’s sleek and the feel in hand is fabulous. There is much good for corp users here!
