Never would I consider myself a tea expert, especially since I add sugar and milk. Yet I have found a brand of tea that really stands out. I have been drinking Numi Tea for about four years now as it is the best I have tasted thus far. But Numi does not only offer bagged and loose tea. They also make flowering teas and the perfect pots to brew them in.
So what is a flowering tea? It’s basically dry tea leaves and flowers sewn together, usually in a compact ball or similar shape. After adding hot water and allowing about 5-6 minutes to steep, that small ball ‘blooms’ into a beautiful and colorful display. Not only can you ‘wow’ your guests but they will be pleased with the flavor as well. The tea comes in a variety of flavors as green, white, or black tea. Each has a unique flavor and opens with different flowers inside.
The concept of flowering tea has been around for a long time in many Asian countries. What a treat to be able to enjoy such a tasty and beautiful display right here in the States. Numi products can be purchased in various stores, on-line, or at their teahouse in Oakland, California.
Disclosure: I was provided with a teapot, warmer, and flowering teas to facilitate this review. The opinions expressed here are 100% my honest opinion.
