I can’t believe the school year is starting soon. Well, in my daughter’s case, it starts in only two short weeks. She’s attending a new program where she will take her high school courses at the local college. This is the first time she’s been to public school since kindergarten and she’ll be with college students! We’re all pretty anxious about how things will go. But, we still have a tiny bit of summer to squeeze some fun and back to school shopping into!
Using Up the Last Bit of Summer
Aside from our trip the Big Island of Hawaii and Oahu earlier this summer, we really haven’t done much together. So, in the time we have left, maybe we can swim, ride bikes, play games, and arrange activities with friends. Then, it’s time to start shopping. We haven’t had to do the whole back to school shopping for years so it’s a bit daunting.
It’s not just the school supplies I’m worried about. Neither my daughter or I keep tabs on current styles. We have no idea what kids her age are wearing these days. Fashion magazines, store advertisements, and trendy bloggers/YouTubers/Instagrammers will be our best friends for the next couple of weeks. I hope Munchkin can find things that she likes without feeling out of place with the other students.
Printable Back to School Shopping List for High School
To help us get through this exciting but stressful time, I created a handy shopping list. The list includes basic clothes as well as school supplies for high school students. Click here or on the image below to download the printable Back to School Shopping List for High School.
You might notice that I included Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes on the list. These are soooo important to have and come in handy for wiping down lockers, shared supplies, laminated or plastic-wrapped book covers (as long as they are hard non-porous surfaces), etc. We recently had to get a couple books from the library for my daughter’s summer reading assignments (no digital copies were available). The minute we got home, I thoroughly sanitized that plastic cover with a Disinfecting Wipe and let it dry before Munchkin could read it. By the way, she is equally grossed out by library books due to past experiences with dried food and boogers between the pages…
Save & Donate with CloroxForSchools.com
Before you start shopping, though, make sure to visit CloroxForSchools.com. For every $5 you spend on qualifying Clorox® and Glad® products (up to $25), you’ll save $1. Then, the Clorox Company will match that amount by donating $1 to classrooms in need through DonorsChoose.org. Those small donations can really add up. Last year, the Clorox Company donated $150,000, funding almost 800 projects and affecting more than 57,300 students. And all you have to do is buy, take a photo of the receipt, and upload it. Up to $5 cash back will be delivered to you via Paypal. Easy peasy, right?
Oh my! Now that I wrote all this out, I’m realizing how little time we have left to do everything. Guess we have to get started on playing and back to school shopping ASAP! Will your kids be going back to school soon? What other fun stuff do you have planned? Do you have any back to school shopping tips for me? Share your thoughts with me in the comments!
