It’s that time of the school year when homeschooling just seems to drag on. With one week off during November, two weeks off for Winter Break, rainy days and chilly nights, our whole routine is completely thrown off. This kind of puts me in a teaching slump. Since my daughter is supposed to be on ‘vacation’ I have let her watch more television and play more video games. When we actually sit down to do a bit of school work, neither of us are in the right frame of mind. Any suggestions on how to keep my daughter and I from mental meltdown?

I could actually use the answer to this question myself. It seems the more TV and video games played the less school they want to do. I have two that have that problem. (of course I have gotten out of the routine of things too). Hopefully someone will have a good suggestion. I will check back.
It really helped just getting out of the house and doing a nice activity together. I don’t think we’ll totally get out of the ‘funk’ until spring brings some sunshine.
