Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley Review — Rooms
Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley is designed in a rustic style and offers resort-like accommodations. Singles, groups, and families can choose to book studios, one-bedroom condos, or two-bedroom condos. Our family stayed in a one-bedroom condo. It was spacious, clean, and super cozy with the gas fireplace. The three of us were quite comfortable the entire time.
I especially loved the full kitchen. There were times when we didn’t feel like dining out and just wanted to relax in the room. It was so convenient to keep drinks, staples, and snacks on hand. Eating breakfast and lunch in our room helped cut down on food costs too. There’s a small grocery store in the village but a larger shopping area, which includes a Safeway and CVS/Pharmacy, is about 15-20 minutes away by car.
Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley Review — Location & Amenities
We couldn’t believe how close we were to all the action. The slopes and lifts of Squaw Valley were directly behind the building. In fact, one evening, we were even treated to a nighttime display of fireworks outside our balcony window. What a fun surprise! The only drawback of being in a room facing the mountain was hearing the snow plows run at night. But, since we were so tired from playing in the snow during the day, we could mostly sleep through it.
The property features a separate clubhouse with both a workout area and sauna. There are two hot tubs on-site as well as barbecue grills, laundry facilities, and ski lockers. The staff was friendly and they were more than willing to loan out any DVDs, games, sleds, or snowshoes during our stay. Other items such as bikes, golf clubs, and fishing gear are offered during warmer weather.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when staying at Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley. The office is only open from 8am to 7pm. To check in after 7pm, you have to follow the instructions posted near the front door. Housekeeping only comes a few times a week. Trash is emptied and towels are changed on Tuesday and Saturday. Thursday is the day for mini-cleaning.
Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley Review — Family-Friendly Vacation Hub
Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley is the ideal spot for your next adventure in Lake Tahoe, CA. It has all the comforts you need but maintains a mountain-y lodge feel works perfectly in this area. Plus, the property is 100% family-friendly. We didn’t get to ski or snowboard last time so we’re hoping to visit again before the snow melts! Maybe we’ll see you there 😉
Our stay was hosted by ResorTime and Grand Pacific Resorts. All opinions are my own.

Something about a steamy hot tub surrounded by snow that is so cozy! Great review!
Thank you and, yes, that’s so true. Although, we were having too much fun in the 14 feet of fresh powder this time to play in the hot tub 🙂
