What’s the first thing you do before using a new tablet? You get a case, well, at least I do. Finding the right case is the hard part. rooCASE has several options on Amazon and, aside from being reasonably-priced, they all have FANTASTIC ratings! Now to decide which case to get . . .

rooCASE Tablet Cover – Review & Compare

There were two cases that I was particularly interested in – the rooCASE signature Origami SlimShell and the new 360 Rotating Dual-View? Being the indecisive person I am, I had a horrible time trying to decide which one to get. So, I got both. I figured that I’m not the only one who has a hard tie deciding and thought a good side-by-side comparison was in order.

I went with the Origami SlimShell Case Cover for my Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″ and with the 360 Rotating Dual-View Detachable Stand Case for my Apple iPad Air. Dimensions weren’t the same since they were for different devices but I could still compare the material and functionality.

Both cases were very impressive and did what they were supposed to well. I wouldn’t say that either was better than the other but it all comes down to what you want in a case. If you want a cover that is lightweight and that stands up in 2-3 positions, then the Origami SlimShell is the right choice. If you want more options in viewing positions and angles, prefer a sturdier build, and like having a strap to secure the tablet when holding it, then the 360 Rotating Dual-View is the way to go.

Again, it all boils down to personal preference. I’ll have a review up of each case soon but, in the meantime, here’s a direct comparison of the case specifications for the Origami SlimShell and the 360 Rotating Duel-View (both for the iPad Air):

I like that it has an elastic strap to hold it. I like the colors featured here too.

I have several tablets and both look like they’ll be a very good fit, for different purposes!

I suppose I should get a grown up case for my daughters abandoned Galaxy Tab

I think I’d like the slim shell better.

Thank you for explaining the Auto sleep / wake function. I saw that when I was looking for covers for my tablet and had NO idea what that meant! (Of course now I want to slap my forehead and say “doh”!) I thought about getting the swivel case, but I didn’t. I can’t wait to see the reviews on each case separately.
