Wow, I think that was the fastest I have ever finished a Disney Infinity Play Set! Rise Against the Empire for Disney Infinity 3.0 was just so stinkin’ fun that I couldn’t put it down. The story follows that of the classic movies of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi as you play Leia, Luke, Han, Chewbacca, and more.
Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Play Set
Leia and Luke come pre-packaged with the Rise Against the Empire game piece while Character Figures like Han Solo and Chewbacca can be purchased separately. I’m so glad another strong female character was added to Star Wars Disney Infinity 3.0 game. My daughter loved playing the strong but sassy Leia and maxed her out at level 20 pretty quickly.
Collecting Champion Coins within the game will allow you to play a slew of other characters including Yoda, Obi-Wan, or even Darth Vader (pretty funny to see Darth switching sides and fighting himself). Darth Maul was also recently released and can be unlocked for this play set. I also noticed that Amazon has an exclusive bundle that looks fantastic!
Rise Against the Empire Play Set Gameplay
All of the issues I had with the first Star Wars Play Set were resolved in this one and the gameplay, in my opinion, is much better. The missions are clear, the maps are fairly easy to follow, and the story sticks closely to the original (except for non-kid-friendly bits like Luke and Leia having a “thing,” hands getting cut off, etc.). I think my favorite parts were navigating through the Death Star in an X-Wing, hanging with the Ewoks on Endor, taking down AT-ATs, and exploring Tatooine. The Rise Against the Empire Power Disc Set will help you in your mission with two ships and two costumes.
Some portions are quite difficult and two players can really come in handy at times. There are also timed missions but, fortunately, you can start over an infinite amount of times until you get it right. The graphics look fantastic and run smoothly. Beware: The game is so addictive that you’ll want to play it all the way through on your first sitting, even if it takes a good 4 hours or so.
If you are a fan of the original Star Wars movies, then you will want to pick up the Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Disney Infinity 3.0 Play Set and the rest of Wave 2 releases (Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and the Rise Against the Empire power discs). The game will provide you and your family several hours of exciting and nostalgic play as you get ready for the next part of the story coming soon in the new movie, The Force Awakens.
