Caber Sure Fit / SureFit™ Canada / SureFit Furniture Covers . . .
When we moved back from the Netherlands, we brought hardly anything with us. It was just too expensive to ship everything. To help us start over, family and friends generously gave us basic furniture and other items so we could live comfortably without going into immediate debt. For example, one of my sisters was about to replace her sofa set. She and her husband had had the set for many years but it was still in great condition. In fact, even new cushions had recently been put in. They let us use both the sofa and loveseat for as long as we needed it.
We appreciated that so much! There was only one problem, the major one that caused my sister to not want it any more – the print. Can you tell that this was purchased in the 90’s?
Almost immediately, I set out to get some slip covers. I was able to find a set of SureFit covers at half-price at Ross. The neutral color was perfect since I hadn’t yet decided which color scheme to decorate with. Those beige covers have served us well until just recently.
With all white walls in our newer place, our home seemed really washed out. They still looked okay, but more and more loose threads were starting to come out. After more than seven years, it was finally time for this set to be retired.
Since the old covers survived so long and stayed nice wash after wash, we knew our next ones had to be from the same brand. SureFit™ Canada sells slipcovers online to both the US and Canada (the US SureFit is the same company but sells to retail). There was a great selection to choose from and the prices were decent, about $100 – $160 per cover. If you need more than one slipcover that could add up quickly, but it’s definitely cheaper than getting all new furniture!
The last cover we had was a ‘relaxed’ fit. With these, I had to adjust and re-tuck the fabric every time someone sat on the couch / loveseat. So, this time, I decided to go with a ‘form fit’ cover which had two pieces. Looking over the collection, I decided on the Eastwood Wine Sofa Slipcover and the Eastwood Wine Loveseat Slipcover. I liked the design of the fabric and thought the richer color would bring some warmth to our living room.
Installation was super easy and my husband really liked the clean look it added to our couches. I haven’t had time to get new throw pillows but the old ones still work for now.
The new set so comfortable! The soft, fuzzy fabric is feels so nice that my family has been sitting on our sofa and loveseat more than ever. That means more family time together! Plus, with the stretchy material, the covers stay in place. Yay! Another thing that concerned me was our dog. Speckles used to like sticking her nose under the old covers and blow, as if she thought our sofas were inflatable. Of course, there was nothing to worry about since the new style didn’t stop our dear pup from continuing her silliness.
Soon after putting them on, though, I was reminded of another wonderful feature of slipcovers. I assume that someone was having a nice snack on the sofa because, in less than a week, there were food spots! We were able spray on some stain remover and pop those babies in the wash. Yes, I did finally remove the tags before washing them 🙂 They came out perfectly! The covers were even easier to put on this time around too.
Having used SureFit covers in the past and experiencing the durability of their furniture covers firsthand, I was so pleased to find that SureFit’s quality continues to be top-notch. SureFit™ Canada also has waterproof QuickCovers, pillow and mattress encasements, and children’s bedding protection. The pillow and mattress encasements are of particular interest to me since all three in my family are allergic to dust. Doctors have also recommended that we get some.
So don’t throw out those chairs or sofas when you redecorate. Just check out SureFit™ Canada to update the look of your furniture as often as you’d like. It’s a great way to breath new life into your living room without the hefty price tag!
Stay tuned for a special discount code AND a $250 product giveaway!

We have a lazy boy sofa and love seat in desperate new of help! Do you know if these work with reclining sofas? I’m heading to the website to check it out but thought I’d ask. 🙂
I’m not sure but I’m guessing that a Relaxed Fit might work for you. The bottom can be loosened so I’d imagine it could accommodate the reclining section. Let me ask the company too!
Caber Sure Fit offers relaxed fit and form fitted slipcovers for chairs, loveseats and sofas, but recliners have form-fitting ones only. You can view the selection of recliner/lazy-boy slipcovers at cabersurefit.com/sc/slipcovers/chairs/recliners/form-fit-slipcovers
I just had our reclining sofa re-upholstered. Too bad the idea of slipcovers never crossed my mind. That would’ve been a better alternative.
That looks fantastic and I’m happy to hear about a quality namebrand for such a product. I didn’t know you lived in The Netherlands, that’s really cool.
